  1. Afternoon I have made some progress on the warehouse platform using coffee stirrers and staining the wood with coffee. The results are really good but some weathering will be done to produce the right colours on a well used wooden platform.
  2. Some more work completed on my boxfile. I went with the brick work on the back wall which will be a warehouse loading bay. I will be modelling a platform using wood coffee stirrers for loading goods from and to the warehouse. As you can see I have placed a fire exit door on the other factory wall and some pipe work. Sandpaper has been laid for the road area into the scrap yard. Still loads to do but having fun.
  3. Peter I must say your diorama looks great. The modelling and scenery work looks really nice, it’s a shame the diorama is not operational.
  4. TechnicArrow this sounds like a great idea. But what can I use as a mirror to achieve this. I was thinking of constructing my own wooden goods platform, made from coffee stirrers and adding a half relief goods office. But if I do this I’m stuck on a background to use.
  5. Hi I need some help from our excellent modellers on the forum. I’m a little stuck on what to model on the blank side of my boxfile layout. As you can see I have a box van sitting there. Maybe I can incompase this into the modelling. I have uploaded a picture, any advice will be great.
  6. This will be a shame. As your modelling and photographic skills are brilliant. I have heard this issue with Flikr a few times now, anything to make some money.
  7. Evening some more work completed today. Track and brick card has been glued in place today and hopefully later tonight I will be glueing the sandpaper down. This is to replicate the road and parking on the layout. The brick wall along the back will have a fire exit door and some pipework for water and electrics to the factory/warehouse.
  8. kevo what a lovely little layout. Both the grounded tool van and the pallets look great. Really nice modelling.
  9. Luke this is a great looking micro layout. The work on the static grass is really nice and I’m looking forward to seeing your new 009 gauge loco on the layout.
  10. Thanks HonestTom for the link and the comments.
  11. Hello Luke thank you for your reply. You are right about the grounded box car Luke. I will be using this as an office for the scrap yard area of the boxfile. The scrap bits will be coming from secondhand Airfix models and an old Lesney matchbox car I have.
  12. Today I completed fitting cardboard to strengthen the boxfile. Also cardboard has been fitted to glue the brick card to. Hopefully the track will be glued in place tomorrow.
  13. This is turning out to be a great layout build. I really like the bricked open and closed arches.
  14. Cheers Geoff for the welcome. Jeff cheers mate.
  15. Thanks Norm81 for commenting about my question. All great advice.
  16. Nothing like an inglenook layout. Your model work on the buildings is great and I like the little vespa.
  17. Hello Luke. I have just been catching up on your layout build thread and your modelling techniques and weathering of this layout are excellent. I like the way you make your stone walls. Your layout is very inspirational.
  18. After some careful thinking I have decided to make a OO gauge boxfile. The theme will be around a scrap yard Called Hanrattys. The track work will comprise of a Peco point and two standard straights. Around the inside of the boxfile will be bricked walls with two small bridge tunnels. One for the loco shunting into the boxfile and another for traffic into the scrapyard.
  19. It’s great to see a Christmas themed layout. Beautiful scenic work and modelling.
  20. A very nice diorama Alex. Some lovely detailed work.
  21. Hi and thanks kindly for your replies. This helps me a great deal.
  22. Hi with me being new to the forum and model railways. I am planning a boxfile layout and I will be using brick card. So what I want to know is which glue is best to use so I can fix the card to the inside of my boxfile.
  23. An interesting little micro layout. Some really nice modelling and weathering techniques and I do like your figures.
  24. Hi with me being new to the forum and railway modelling. I have been looking through the original CBC models and all are nicely modelled. The idea for the next challenge sounds great, might have a go myself.
