Still available. If it doesn't go I'm probably going to have to break and dump. 😪

I didn't name the layout. I've just been the custodian for a few enjoyable years.
I can see where the confusion would arise as both the builders name in the article is Nicholas and so is mine. 😬

Free layout -Dulwich Vale
7ft x 7 ft round layout
Featured in Railway Modeller April 2014.
Due to a house move I need to get rid of my layout. It has been stored in a dry but unheated garage for the last couple of years and I have not opened it so it is in an unknown condition. The layout comes complete with trestle legs.
Wired for Dcc control.
No stock or controller is included.
I am based just outside Norwich and a transit sized van would be required for collection.
Layout comes packed for transportation in 4 wooden boxes. 60"x30"x14"
I am not the original builder and bought this off of eBay in 2018.
Thanks for looking.

I am the opposite to you: I have long been a fan of Merchant Navy locos, especially in original form. The Hornby models have been the icing on the cake, even in the earlier rebuilt model form. I would dearly love to get the current BR blue 'East Asiatic Company', but having just done a quick inventry of my existing MN models, I really cannot justify another £162-odd.
What I have:
21C3 MN "Royal Mail" 4-6-2 SR green
35005 Rebuilt MN "Canadian Pacific" 4-6-2 BR blue late crest
35012 Rebuilt MN "Rotterdam Lloyd" 4-6-2 BR green late crest
35021 Rebuilt MN "New Zealand Line" 4-6-2 BR green
35023 MN "Holland Afrika Line" 4-6-2 BR green early crest
35023 Rebuilt MN "Holland Afrika Line" 4-6-2 BR green
35024 Rebuilt MN "East Asiatic Company" 4-6-2 BR green
35027 Rebuilt MN "Port Line" 4-6-2 BR green
35028 Rebuilt MN "Clan Line" 4-6-2 BR green
35029 MN "Ellerman Lines" 4-6-2 BR green early crest
Plus a converted pair of Airfix kits hacked into one MN on a Hornby Dublo/Wrenn chassis as 35012 'Rotterdam Lloyd', a nearly finished unrebuilt example from Golden Arrow Productions on a Hornby chassis, and an unfinished Millholme (unrebuilt) kit mounted on a modified Hornby chassis from a rebuilt example. There's another Millholme kit, unbuilt, for the earlier series 21C3 to 21C10.
Do I need another? It definitely looks like you need one in wartime black!

Not sure Model Rail are doing anymore of these, having moved on to other projects. Perhaps Dibber25 could maybe shed more light ?
Depending on the terms of the contract with Bachmann, they may appear in Bachmanns own range in future as the GN Atlantics and Midland Compound did from the NRM exclusives, and the LMS twins from Rails .
Give it a couple of years and they will probably be released as an EFE model.

For anyone who is tempted by a Lord Nelson, Rails now have Sir Francis Drake in SR green at £129.50. No connection etc.
I'm surprised that they haven't sold out like a lot of Hornby's new offerings of late it's one of the few occasions where I've not bought on release and managed to pick up cheaper later.

I wouldn't want to see a release list like this every year as new models are the lifeblood of the hobby, but I for one am happy to see a year of consolidation.
As a Southern modeller we have been fortunate to have been inundated with superb models from many sources, so a gap to catch up with purchases is an opportune chance as far as I am concerned.

These days some expert would probably tell Leonardo Da Vinci he hadn't got the Mona Lisa's smile right.
Like that painting LLS is also a masterpiece.

Mitchum deodorants work well. They cope with an overweight sweaty man who works in a high humidity industry.
Think I should use this ^ as an introduction on dating site's!

Fair point.
Thanks for the swift reply.

I don't know if this is a permanent change or a trial but I personally preferred the separate topics for each magazine as it used to be complete with sub headings. It certainly made it easier to navigate and track topics.
Any chance of a change back?

Jeez look at those Lionel Blair's.If your lad (or lass) wants to couple their Class 40 to their DMU, there's no point telling them it's not right.

Aaaah, the good old days, poverty, high mortality and rickets!!

Apparently, if you listen some, it'll all be coming back after Brexit

The policemen are fantastic although a tad early for me but it set me thinking, would it be worth your time taking your scanning equipment to one of the many 1940s themed events at a heritage railway.
I'm aware that not all the outfits are correct but some of the people do go to an extreme effort to get things correct.
Just a thought.

Great photo.
This is only speculation but if the yellow paint end faded due to the quite harsh chemicals put into the automatic washing plants of the time, a black surround would give a clearer outline to the disc.
Obviously on what looks like an ex works paint job fading isn't yet an issue.

If you think Norwich to London is bad you should try travelling east or west either by road or rail both are horrendous!

Received one from Hattons last week only too find I'd mistakenly ordered the BR version doh.
Visited the Bure Valley Railway yesterday and found the SR version for £35 so snapped that up.
Now what to do with the BR one?

Personally I don't think you can beat a large Hendricks gin with fever tree tonic and a slice of cucumber. Relaxation in glass.
Adams copper house is also a good gin. Gordon's will pass muster but I think it's the tonic which brings the flavour.
So a more simple tonic suits a flavoured gin, I'm currently working through a bottle of rhubarb and ginger which is going down a treat.
As always drink responsibly.

Unless you are purchasing an APT or 92 which are crowd funded ie you have a vested interest, isn't this thread little more than trolling of DJM?

Well this looks interesting, but just one suggestion. Would it be possible to make the returning loop going into the parcels siding go into the two main platform roads, similar to Waverly west on here, so you could get a continuous run.
The layout could still look like a terminus by having an overall roof to disguise the circular nature of the layout.
I think this would allow to keep a train circling whilst shunting sidings etc. Also sometimes it's nice to watch the trains go by.
All the best

Eurgh! Whatever is that tram looking thing at Doncaster? Does it scare small children?

Dapol certainly seem to have a problem with the packaging not being up to the job. Great model but arrived with a sandbox and rear lamp iron floating around inside. Still nothing that can't be glued on.
