If you are thinking of building the main station it might be worth looking at the Vollmer Baden Baden kit. (Sorry I can't add a link but it comes up on Google.)
Although German HO it has a similarity to Thorpe and could be bashed to an acceptable replica.

Absolutely loving this thread, takes me right back to my childhood. Always remembered that snow plough by the shed which became toucan toolhire, and when older generally nosing round the yards. A book which might prove useful is " Mainlines of East Anglia." By John Brodribb. Has a full trackplan of Thorpe and a few pics. Will dig out some old shots and see if there maybe anything of interest. Best of luck with the build.

I believe Boulton and Paul also built Mosquito fighter bomber's during the war which led to the area being quite heavily bombed.
