  1. Ah thanks sulzer, that might explain when F11 pressed the flange squeal stays on no matter what & when I've been driving slow enough around a bend/points I can hear additional rail crank/squeal in the background. Will try driving (slowly) with F11 off and see if flange sequel works on corners etc.
  2. Hi, I've just had 37001 (digital sound) back from an 'Accurascale Works visit', but for the life of me I can't remember if when it left it had the 'brake grind' as the loco comes to a stand. (this isn't the sound that is played when the brake function is applied). I did look on YT and it does appear to have this sound?? Also, I presume to get the flange/rail squeal to work around corners with the Hall sensor F11needs to be pressed? Because at the moment with F11 pressed flange/rail squeal sound is always on no matter if on a straight or curve and without F11 pressed there's no sound at all. I've tried decoder reset for both issues but this didn't change anything, I've contacted support, but while I wait a reply is there any CVs I could possibly change? Thanks
  3. Thanks for your reply, popped the wheels out today, very easy as you say, they look like the correct size, photos beyond my IT skills unfortunately. There’s an interesting posts (up thread)about teasing the wheels out a bit, so might try that next time in the loft.
  4. Thanks, I popped the wheels out no problem today, unfortunately posting a photo is beyond my IT skills, it looks like they are the correct size.
  5. 3rd & 4th radius, also noticed a binding sound as the coaches start on my incline, if rolling the coach down the incline (without a loco) the coach will stop dead as the incline levels out. I’ve also slackened the bogie screw off without any effect.
  6. I received my 6 coaches and they all run freely on straights but come to a stand on curves with a slight binding noise, they also short out going though points, even my Peco express points, plus the lights will always be on when I turn the layout on even after being turned off previously. I’ve contacted support any waiting a response, I haven’t taken the wheels out as didn’t know how easy this was with all the brake rigging around them and didn’t want to damage them. As it looks like they just lift out looking at your photos, I’m wondering if I might have the same problem? Thanks for sharing…
  7. Unless I'm mistaken, the Class 120 at Blaenau Ffestiniog has driver 'Mad' Raymond Roberts stood next to it. As long as you had a margin, Raymond wouldn't let you down. You could tip him out in front of the Londons if he was on the Amlwch Tanks to Elesmere Port & he wouldn't delay the passenger. He also knew how to driver a class 40 properly 😏.
  8. Hi 61656, Great layout, when I worked Penmaenmawr SB between 1985 to 1987 Pen Yard wasn't staffed 24 hours un like the box, but we did have a light loco move from the Junction in the middle of the night. It was the Loco off the Parcels 4D11 (I think) which would return back to Junction after arriving at Bangor. Once a week in stead of working the daily Trip working, it would run light back to Pen to work the Pen to Hope Street 'Chippings' train, and yes it was a godforsaken place in the small hours, at least the Drivers got to escape, unlike the Signaller on duty...🙂 Stu
  9. Merf would definitely, I’m going for Wyne Davies, I’m sure he relieved me a few times at Colwyn Bay Box… Even though I’ve worked an NX Panel for the last 26 years, I saw the ‘lesser spotted’ Locking Fitter more as it was the only place Dave Kips could work/fax his timesheet off. They still maintain our two ground frames, the last time I asked their area nearly covered the Western side of the Uk up to Cumbria…
  10. Big Jim's photo at Prestatyn SB, Ivor Jones Locking Fitter in the background, one of the first person to meet on my first day on the railway back in July 1982, Arthur Roberts was his mate for many years & I passed him in the car going though Penmaenmawr yesterday bizarrely... The Signalman was I think a GPR Relief who's name escapes me...
  11. After United won the 1990 FA Cup replay against Palace, me & by mate we’re waiting at Crewe for the next train down the North Wales Coast (only a six hour wait) and the United team with Fergie plus FA Cup in the window went passed on the way to Manchester, bit of a drunken sing song echoed around the station for a few minutes afterwards…. On the way to Ramsbotham United v FC United last game of the season 2007 title celebrations we hired a whole train to take us & the team up and down the ELR before dropping us all off at Ramsbottom station which by this time looked as if Doc Red Army had taken over the town like back when we were in the second division, happy days…
  12. When I asked about the sleeper rake on Monday and the magnetic couplings I was told they'd glue them together for reliability, not sure if this means just the magnet or also the pockets. The rake was very impressive, I spent most of my time there on Monday following the 37s around and listening to the sound, while I wait for my 37001 to arrive😊 Although using AS Manor as a Thunderbird on a set of B/G Coffins due to a failed 87 was a bit odd!!!!🤣
  13. What a rare and unusual photo, you could never find a Fitter at the Junction unless you rang the Crosville Club….😏😂 143 seemed to work the Amlwchs or the Mostyn Sulphur solid around this time…
  14. 40025 on the Evening Bangor, with an A/S steam heating boiler...🤤
