  1. A missing 03 and match truck. I put it out on the main and it wasn't seen for some considerable time...

  2. I'm sure when i was a kid my Airfix Coastal Defence set had guns that fired some sort of projectile? I bought one for the lad and no sign of anything dangerous.

But fairly tame when compared with the Triang R672 Honest John missile. I can still see the dent in the ceiling where mine was fired straight up from the living room table.

I'd like to know more about this system especially if it supports asymetric brake

  4. Geminids Meteor Shower clearly visible tonight just for a change, even in the light polluted south. Must look good in a Dark Sky zone, but I wouldn't want to be outside at the current temperatures.....

A stunner last night. Saw it while driving home around 21:45. Bright green.

  5. Was on the 23:18 Edinburgh Waverley - Perth last night after attending the Tattoo. We had the train nearly to ourselves me n Mrs LNERGE. Where is everybody?

A similar ride pre pandemic remains the most crowded I have ever seen a train. People sitting on top of seatbacks with their legs round people in seats.

  6. Nights last night. New points tested into service in London. A bit zombie today but with resolve to find me a new Deltic. To no avail though..

A knock on the front door.. Parcel for Mrs LNERGE. She immediately hands it to me... My favourite Deltic, with sound..

Those days are long gone. Carrying them down the box steps and away was once so easy lol

  10. I'm thinking of a mail coach with an opening door and deployable net. Is it possible to get a dcc servo controller and small servo's that will fit in a OO scale mailcoach?

    1. LNERGE

      LNERGE

I can't use an extra rail with dcc so it will have to be something else. Magnets may be worth a try.

I can only imagine deploying the net and opening the door. The traductor arms look to be more of a problem. The lights are crying out to be brought to life too. I can see there being all sort of problems with it deploying when it shouldn't.

Just in from mine. Magazines at the ready, modelling bits on the table, war films lined up and around 100 wires to terminate under a signalbox. Hopefully i'll be up for one of those activities tomorrow. Looking at the weather one or more of the first three may be in order.

  17. What’s the best sound decoder for a Bachmann 37?  I’ve been rummaging round the net but can’t make up my mind.

    1. LNERGE

      LNERGE

I got a Hornby 31 to work nicely so I though I’d get it a sound chip. What I got was rather lame. I don’t want to make the same mistake with the 37.

I found an etch at last (in the box marked coach kit bits of all places). Now I need to find where it came from so I can get some more..

  23. I was minding my own business earlier today, sat in my own railway room, contemplating an aesthetically pleasing pannier tank, when I heard an advertisement on the wireless for the LNER! Yes, the LNER! The effrontery, bringing the name of that railway uninvited, into my own private sanctum!
