  2. Hello, I have been advised to ask this question on this thread, ,,,,,,,, I am interested in the 4 Thompson A2/1 pacifics, 60507 - 60510 Basically trying to ascertain if there were any differences (visibly) between the 4 locomotives ... I would be very grateful for any comments regarding any perceived variations between the 4 locos, especially in the later years of their lifes. (1954 - 1960). Many thanks, Ian

  5. I have an obscure question, which I wondered if anyone could answer .... 35013 Blue Funnel, I believe ran in original condition with a Cut down tender. Does anyone know the arrangement of the Vacuum Cylinders on the top rear of the tender - I believe there were variations and differing cover types ?? Thanks in advance, Ian
  6. The build of 35013 is progressing, but I am afraid I have another question .... There seems to be two versions of the Vacuum tanks & cover on the top of the rear of the Tender ? One is much wider than the other ! Does anyone know which of the two the Original MN 35013 ran with ?? Many thanks.
  7. Hello, Does anyone know, or know where I can research, what was the Works Number of this loco ?? Would be really appreciative of any information. Thanks, Ian

The Guildford Shed pilot '0-4-0ST' 30458 'Ironside', is available as a kit in 4mm Although not on the website of CSP Models, I have just received an excellent complete kit for this rare loco from them .... Just thought someone may be interested ...
  9. Hello, I thought I should let you all know, CSP models provide a 4mm kit for the small 0-4-0ST , 'Ironside', or 'Clausentum'. This is not on the CSP website, but is available as I have just received a long sought after kit for the Guildford shed pilot .. 30458. Cheers, Ian

  12. Hello, I have a couple of question regarding Merchant Navy class locos, especially 35001 Channel Packet ... * Did Merchant Navy locos (Origiinal) run with cutdown tenders in BR green livery ? Questions, which locos ? what type of tender ? * Especially interested in 35001 Channel Packet ran with a cutdown tender ? Questions, What size tender ? What Livery ? Early or Late crest/emblem ? Any photos available ? Many thanks, Ian Bradford
  13. Hello, I am hoping to create a model of the LBSCR / SR /BR D3 0-4-4T locomotive in 4mm (OO gauge) ... The starting point is going to be the Roger Chivers Kit ... The first information I require is concerning the dimensions and spoke numbers of both the Driving and Bogie wheels ... Any information greatly appreciated, many thanks, Ian
  14. Maindee East was a superb layout in my opinion, thank you Steffan (RIP)
  15. As a modeller / enthusiast who 'likes' facts/details to be right I understand all the comments. Of course we all want a product to be as good/accurate as possible, But sometimes I do not understand the criticism of a Manufacturer/Company who is attempting to enhance this hobby, by producing an item which has not previously been available. Basically in my humble opinion, some people just need to get a life !!
  16. Thanks to everyone, all sorted now. All instructions received from 'Horsetan', many thanks.... Cheers, Ian
  17. Hello, In short I have just purchased an old 4mm 'M & L Premier Kits, GWR 4-6-0 County Class' unbuilt (and believed complete ) kit. Unfortunately the purchase has not included Instructions or Parts list, if anyone has a copy of these that could be copied and sent to me, I would be most grateful. I certainly do not have the skills to build without the instructions etc ... I will obviously reimburse any costs, man thanks, Ian
  18. Don't know the correct words, absolutely stunning. cannot wait to visit, thank you. (and not a Southern region loco in sight)
  19. I totally agree, after a little banter (which I enjoy), I have always had excellent service from Mark, I think we should all cut him some slack and be thankful his wheels are available. With a bit of banter, he has helped me out on a few occasions. Cheers, ian
  20. Latest addition, a Malcolm Mitchell Castle kit ....
  21. After seeing the photos of the Garratt, showing the immense size, I thought this photo demonstrated the variation in British Railway modelling etc .... LMS/BR Sentinel loco in final phases of construction, by in my opinion a very skilled Modeller, not me !
  22. Excuse what may seem a very basic question regarding the Livery for a BR(W) Castle loco ... I am having a GWR/BR castle loco built in 1960's condition, I would like to know what is the correct 'green' to paint the loco ? Seems to me, original GWR Green was 'lighter' than the Green used in later (1960s) repaints of the GWR/BR Castle and other express locos ?? Please clarify. Many thanks, Ian
  23. Thank you all for the information, just what I required, the photos from br2975 are such a modelling aid. Roll on 1151, although 1152 with the open cab back is tempting !! If there are any more photos out there, would love to see them ... Cheers, Ian
