  1. When the Royal Scot locomotives were rebuilt, what worksplates were added and where were they situated on the loco ? Were original worksplates kept or were there Crewe worksplates. ? Any information on format etc, gratefully received. With thanks, Ian
  2. Hopefully a very simple question, due to my lack of knowledge .... Where were the Worksplates situated on Class 40 and Class 47 Diesel locos ? Brush Class 47 information received Also the dimensions of the plates would be very useful ? and how many were on each loco ? For Class 40 locos, I believe the worksplates were situated below the cab side windows, hence 4 plates per loco ???. Thanks in advance, Ian
  3. Hello, I would just like to make any interested parties aware of the situation I have encountered with Falcon Brass over the past 2 months .... Basically I contacted the Owner, hoping to try and find if there was anyway of obtaining 4 or 5 of the kits/etches that they used to apparently have available. After an initial positive helpful phone call, I was given hope and promises that I would be contacted back and given updates. After another 4 phone calls which I instigated, I was given promises etc that just have not come to fruition, finally today I lost patience. The way this 'man' treats people who actually want to be Customers, is a complete disgrace. Enough said. Ian
  4. Not sure how much I should say about this, but apparently there is a 'person' on Facebook who is seriously looking into the possibility of a 4mm 15xx kit. The words I have seen, appear very promising. Send me a message if anyone requires more info ....
  5. Mike, Is the SR C14 finished ? or the status of the Ashford Diesel Shunter 15202 ? Just to pile on the requests Cheers, Ian
  6. Thanks for the replies so far .... Did any of the Stores or De-icing units run in the BR/SR green livery, I seem unable to find any photos ? Any pointers very welcome ...
  7. Hi, I would just like to say every story has two sides .... I have had one of these NLR tank kits built by a friend, who just happens to be the ex co-owner of Mallard models. The kit has been built and in my humble opinion is a beautiful replica of the 'original' loco. I will attempt to photo the finished model and add to the thread later in the week, to prove a point. Sometimes just because one cannot, others can !
  8. Hello, Thinking about a future project, the building of one of the Southern region EMU De-Icer or Store Unit ? I know these were modified from 2-BIL / 2-HAL and other units. Any information, or pointers on these units would be helpful, also any info on any modelling aids etc, etc I know it is a long shot ! Cheers, Ian
  9. Hello. Simple question really, I am attempting to detail a few early BR diesels, these often had the train Identification discs, which at times were used to allow front lights to be seen or covered. Hope I have explained correctly. Are these available in 4mm gauge, as examples such as Class 16, Class 40 would be improved by the addition of these ? Sorry for the question, Ian
  10. If I remember correctly there was a 'good' kit for a Class 40 available from Modern outline kits, this obviously has not been available for a few years ....
  11. Hello, I wonder if anybody could confirm the format of the Worksplates for the LMS/BR Garratt locos ? Am I correct in thinking that the worksplate did not actually indicate the works number of a particular loco ? All help gratefully received. Thanks, Ian
  12. Hello, Any progress on the etches or kit for the SR C14 ? Many thanks, Ian
  13. Plates which were ordered in December turned up this morning, as was promised in the phone call last week.
  14. Thanks for the replies, helpful. i have just found a photo of 35013 on Colour Rail which answers all my questions. Thanks again, Ian
  15. I placed an order in December and after understanding their misfortune, I did not overly worry. Now after a promise which has not been kept, I phoned on Thursday to find they are out of the office until Monday. So after respecting their request not to phone, I now am no further forward. As you can imagine, the phone call on Monday may be a little heated, after all I am the paying Customer.
  16. Hi, I am after information on Merchant Navy Class loco's in their original form, prior to rebuilding. Did any of the the locos (35011 - 35020) run with cut down tenders ? All information, dates etc gratefully received. Any photos or links would be a great help. Thanks in advance, Ian
  17. Just a little reassurance, I received some 'bits' from RT Models this morning, these were ordered at the end of December. Good luck, Ian
  18. Thanks for all the help so far, I am glad I am not the only person who found this complicated. All the information is excellent, thank you. More wanted. Cheers.
  19. Hi, I realise that this information may have been asked for in other topics, but I am getting totally confused whilst attempting research on the following subject .... What I am hoping to find ... Accurate (with dates) Pullman car formation for the following two trains . (Any date of running between 1959 and 1965) * Bournemouth Belle * Tees Tyne Pullman If successful with the above question, the second part is are the 'Pullman' cars identified above, available (currently or previously) from Hornby, etc Obviously, I am happy to re-number and rename any vehicles Thus if successful I will know exact formations and what Pullman cars are available etc to create these two trains. I would really appreciate all help and accurate information. Many thanks, Ian
  20. A photo of a DJH kit built Britannia, unfortunately not built by myself .....
