  1. Hi Paul If you are dissatisfied with the weathering then send it back - explain why and if enough folk do that the message will get through. Norman
  2. To remove the roof you need to use some gentle force under the ends, slip a thin screw driver in and lever it up. Norman
  3. Hi Paul Thanks for the advice but not on the floor just lurking in the detritus on my desk - quite small and easily (for me) overlooked. You'd think a bit of selotape would secure them to the packaging. Norman
  4. My category A - BCK arrived this morning, complete with inspection sheet, congratulations to Hattons. Only problem is the couplings which are supposed to be enclosed are missing otherwise perfect. I'm just wondering who will be the first to tackle the drop lights, shouldn't be necessary but will have to be cut out and set back correctly. I have not figured out how to get inside for passengers and lights yet. Seems roof is separate to body but no screws to be seen must just be clips?
  5. I think the ones listed at £179 and no Grade mentioned are the A graded ones i.e. no faults. Plenty of stock and at £179 better than originally forecast. Norman
  6. As far as I recall the lights are on F1 and F2 but it depends how your decoder has been prepared.
  7. If you are using the programming track it should work. Try with just the loco. If that works add the coach and try again. If programming the loco does not work then there is something wrong with your setup.
  8. Yes it's a pot. Servisol 10 will not damage anything. What's the problem. Give Chris a ring at A&H models for expert advice.
  9. Hi Paul That's good to know, thank you. A little easier than what I thought. Norman
  10. I expect its easy - they only charge £30 - the repairs are done at Zimo - you get a replacement for the price of the "repair". Don't fret we have all been there. Excellent service from YouChoos Norman
  11. Hi Mr Woodhead Sadly it seems likely that it is. The good news is that your Zimo dealer will repair it for a small fee. Commiserations!
  12. Should be easy then. Just place your autocoach and a loco on the track together and program them both to the spec for your autocoach. When you've done that remove the autocoach and program the loco separately.
  13. Please tell how and with what equipment you are trying to do this. Have read the posts above?
  14. Yes but ESU's time allowed is minimal
  15. Yes Nigel I agree but the manufacturer should not set an arbitrary limit and the end user should decide what is enough.
  16. I notice that with ESU they limit the time for stay alive and I wonder why they do this?
  17. Yes but you will need to convert the 9 pin serial to a USB.
  18. Just reset the decoder to it's original condition by writing 8 to CV8. Then power off and back on again. Do it more than once if it does not work the first time. Everything should be OK. Norman
  19. Phoenix precision have a LBSCR improved. I would start with that and lighten or darken it to suit the Dapol paint. Norman
  20. and the moral of this topic is : choose Zimo in the future!
  21. If that damage has been caused by the worm not meshing correctly it could be a problem on others. Occasionally my Heljan mogul makes a distinctly grating noise which I don't like. The plastic gear shown above is straight cut with the teeth square on but should the teeth should be on the skew and at the same angle as the worm. As it is, it's impossible to mesh correctly so the worm only partially aligns with the gear teeth.
  22. You will need to map your function key to your chosen function output. An easy method is to use DecoderPro.
  23. I suggest you have a good look at the Digikeijs DR5000, it offers good value for money and flexibility together with built in WiFi.
  24. Perhaps it's been locked. Unlocking' a ZIMO decoder using CV144 = 0 must be done with POM. It cannot be performed using Service Mode on a programming track. Norman
