  1. Yes the photo is deceptive because it's not square and the drawing is of course. Norman
  2. Well hello Miss Prism Such language from a lady of your standing; but please explain the perceived discrepancy with the tender frame. Norman
  3. Hi Mike Yes perhaps a good reason; the Mogul 43xx has a wheel base of 7'9"+ 7'0" making a total of 14'9" on the drivers whereas a Churchward 3500 gallon tender is 7'6" + 7'6" making a total of 15'0". So for practical purposes we can say both the same or the tender is marginally the longer wheel base. Norman
  4. Yes but does the DR5000 tolerate connection to both running and programming connections without damage? Better to be safe and sure and have a totally isolated section as Nigel suggests. Norman
  5. Although unusual I see no real difference between pickups on 6 wheels on the loco v 6 on the tender. Both would have been a better solution but if it works and I don't see why it would not then the choice is irrelevant. Norman
  6. Try reading this http://www.gaugemaster.com/instructions/DCC25-26%20Instructions.pdf seems simple enough Norman
  7. Yes the earlier O gaugePO wagons were produced on a similar design basis to Dapol's 00 standard, cheap and cheerful, with no thought given as to how they could be made much beter for little extra cost. I welcome Dapol's new vision lets hope that Richard Webster continues to give good advice and leadership for years to come. Norman
  8. Al I suggest you check the function mapping to ensure that Aux1 is mapped to the F key correctly Norman
  9. The firebox glow on the Dapol Panniers is permanently ON, so on DCC or DC it works as intended.
  10. Just completed the firmware updatee on my LH101s to version 67 - now all offer German, English, French and Netherlands. Using the CV programmer software. Superb service from Lenz Norman
  11. Hi Ron Yes possibly but I don't know how long the special offer regarding exchanging old for new will last and its such a good offer I did not want to miss it. Norman
  12. The three language version, German, English and French was available in the UK and I bought one from Coastal, ex A&H the UK importer, before getting my LH90s exchanged. That's why I was so surprised that they were German only. I'm sure it's just a timing issue really, Lenz have always produced in the 3 languages software & manuals.. Norman
  13. Hello Keith I don't get it at all. The LH101 with German menus only is not fit for purpose in the UK. Lenz trade internationally and fully understand the need for English and have agreed to provide it. For the last 15+ years they have provided DCC components in 3 languages. That suits me and I don't see why that should bother you. Norman
  14. Ian The customer is King, always has been and always will be – whether you export or not then understanding what your customer needs is paramount. Fortunately, Lenz understand this very well. I am not as you suggest ignorant and think using words such as this in an open forum is with the intention of being provactive and rude. Norman
  15. It is unfair because I am expected to pay posatge to and from A&H to have the error corrected. Lenz exported it to the UK - that as far as I am concerned is selling it in the UK and as such it should be with at least an option for English as is all their other kit, hence unprofessional. The important thing really is that I am a customer and require my purchase to have an English option. That said, Lenz agree with me and have apoloigised to me directly. Lenz are now putting matters right with a special action and I very much appreciate their efforts in doing so as it will not cost me anything and I will remain a loyal customer. Norman
  16. I have just heard from A&H that the LZV 200 when available can be used to upgrade the software but until then only A&H have the capability. So I will need to send my new controllers to A&H at my cost - unfair and unproffesional of Lenz to do this. Norman
  17. This is the email I received today from Lenz Dear Mister Clymer, we thank you for the e-mail. We sell in Germany in this time only items with only german language. But please contact our distributor for the UK. He can change the software. So you will have all 4 in English. A and H Models - Anthony Ellis Brackley/Northants NN13 7BW - 95 High Street Tel: +44 (1280) 701410 dccshop@hotmail.co.uk www.aandhmodels.co.uk Best regards Thorsten Gradl It would have been far,far better if Lenz had applied the patch, which I know is availbale, before sending me three German only controllers. I'm sure they know quite well thta in England we expect equipment to be in English. They should have sorted this properly. Norman
  18. I just sent them back to Lenz Elektronik GMBH, 35398 Giessen, Germany However, a word of warning the three new ones I have do not have a menu option to change the language they are in German only, unlike the one I bought from Coastal which allows the user to select English, French or German. So I have emailed Lenz today explaining that they are not fit for purpose and await their reply. Norman
  19. I sent 3 LH90s back and in less than one week I have the LH101s - Lenz really have exceeded my expectations.
  20. I notice that the controller LH101 is now available and that there is a special offer for existing users Now exchange LH90 or LH100: that's how it worksSend in advance your functional and intact LH90 or LH100 to us. In exchange (that is, the sent hand controller remains at Lenz) we will send you the new LH101 at a preferential price of 79 euros plus shipping domestic € 7 against invoice. Shipping abroad for prepayment plus 10 € shipping costs. An offer that you can hardly refuse ... I wonder how this works - does it mean they will send an invoice and when paid the controller(s)? and to what address? I wonder if A&H models the UK agent can handle this - they are not open today. Norman
  21. Yes but the Zimo does not have stay alive capacitors already installed so they provide connections to add capacitors whereass the 4XL already has capacitors which do a great job of stay alive. Norman
  22. Just to confirm the user manual (always a good idea to read and fully understand) describes the 4XL as having an integrated powerpack.so no need for addational capacitors. Norman
  23. The 4XL already comes with capacitors installed and they are more than adequate. Norman
  24. Hi Steve I'm wondering why so short a video and in revese. Looks like a good track layout for an extened endurance run; building confidence. Norman
  25. Really good to see some progress being made with the Sentinel. I assume these are replacement parts for the ones that would not assemble correctly. Do you have an idea of timescale to complete. Norman
