However, Wooden doors were only originally fitted up to 08704 (D3871).

Looking at online photographs of 08 419 suggest that it was withdrawn with Air Brake only and no exhauster cabinet on the other side, so it looks like Hornby have probably that correct.

Possibly as a result of the Euston rebuilding when some trains were diverted off the WCML at Bletchley. I was fortunate enough to travel on an Heysham to London (Marylebone) Train that called at Bletchley. The strange thing was, there was no return working via this route.

I was born and bred just a couple hundred yards from that bridge. I spent many an hour there watching the trains go by; Black Fives, 8F's and BR Std 4's, 5's and 9F's etc happy days. p.s forgot to add D2510 coming home for the weekend having worked all week at Aylesbury. Have they installed a double junction just north of the Bletchley Platforms? The bridge over the dual carriageway is still single though?

I'm wondering if the Facing Points being installed are for Oxford to Bedford trains to run 'wrong line' into Bletchley elevated Platform and then a simplified junction onto the Bedford Branch.

At a rough guess, that looks like the train was between Selbourne Avenue Bridge and the beginning of the flyover where the old Fletton Sidings Signalbox used to be??

I am very sorry to hear that Frank has passed away. Frank and I not only shared Railways and Model Railways as our hobbies, we were both also Radio Amateur's. Thinking about the changing of the UP / Down Direction on the Oxford Branch, which was originally Down to Oxford and Up to Bletchley. As the Oxford Branch at Bletchley is now accessed from the Up Slow and the Up Bedford Branch , it probably makes sense to continue that terminology assuming the Bicester to Oxford section is the same.
