Nice detail there TIm.
That chair looks very comfortable. Do you think I'd fit?
-
Yes, Tim, the image conjured up by that poem of railway enthusiasts doesn't necessarily match reality. As Madeleine and I have met, has she used me as role model
-
Good to see you've settled on one project Nick
You need to hurry up and get it finished now as I'll need something for my future P4 efforts to run on, as it'll be a long time before I build a P4 layout

Rod,
the Dolls house shop Nick may be thinking of is Davenports Dolls houses and Accessories
128 Cornwall Street
PL1 1NJ
01752 666066.
My mum is into Dolls Houses and I have shopped there several times for Xmas and birthday pressies etc.
They are very friendly and am sure they would do their best to help you if they can.
Cheers,
Brian.

Excelent work as usual Tim (and at last I get to see a photo of your use of L section for tie bars )
Could you tell me what you use for the vac pipe? It looks like you have more than one method.

This is really inspiring stuff. It's projects like this which really could get me interested in P4.
Whilst I can appreciate all the detail and effort that goes into some of the wonderful P4 end-2-end layouts, it has always been the larger layouts that really catch my attention.
Superb stuff
Brian.

Swaveney is a bit of a conundrum, as there are differing views on how to proceed and how far to go, but we are talking about the restoration to exhibition condition of one of the earliest P4 exhibition layouts from the 1960s here...
This sounds interesting. Care to share more details with the wider world?

Looks like I picked the wrong week to visit DRAG a fortnight ago.
Looks good. Are you going to get the rest finished now or is this going to make you stop and play for a bit
Brian.

I'm not 100% on this but I think the lining on that tender in the photo is orange and the boiler bands look like they could be orange/black/orange which would suggest the Star is actually in green.

Nick,
Good to see you've started and I look forward to following progress.
As has already been said, you can't have enough GWR / BR(W) layouts
-
Thanks for bringing this across.
This layout was one of the must sees on the old forum and I'm glad you are going to continue over here.
Compliments to your dad for his outstanding modelling and yourself for the quality photos
Brian.

Masterpieces in minature
Two questions - Where did you source the stools and do you recommend installing before ballasting?
I had always planned to ballast first with pointrodding being one of the many detailing jobs that would be carried out at a (much) later date.
Cheers,
Brian.

I know in an earlier update you said you had a 'token' 00 member, and it is very considerate of you to allow him to play trains first

Looking nice and tidy (or is that looked )
Reading your proposed projects, I guess you got over that gauge wobble we talked about then
