Do you have a full line up and other details e.g. traders and demos?

With the DEMU site down I cannot get any other information on the 2024 show

Final details are currently being put together, we have had to make some changes due to some traders and layouts previously booked not now available.

  2. Another little teaser for you all, especially those who like “Yellow Machines” and we certainly know a few ……….

Deadmans Lane, by Mick Bryan will certainly entertain those who have an interest in departmental stock as well as the trains both freight and passenger that regularly trundle up and down the main lines.

  3. Another little teaser for the forthcoming Showcase in June.

Waddon Marsh is a real place on a loop line near Croydon in South London. The line was a freight line serving Croydon Power Station and the passenger service was limited to 2 car EMUs. Some stock passed the site on ECS and reversing moves but essentially Waddon Marsh was a bit of a back water by 3rd rail South London standards.

Regular visitors to Showcsse will know that this layout has attended in the past, however this year you will be able to see it in an extended version.

    Owned and operated by SEDG.

  4. It’s that time to start to tease you all with some photos of the layouts that will be appearing this year at the UK’s premier show for “ modern image “ modellers.

DEMU Showcase 2024 will be at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on June 15/16th.

This year the exhibition will be even bigger with addition of a 3rd hall at the venue bringing you even more layouts and specialist traders for you all to enjoy.

    More details to follow soon.

The first layout to be announced is the wonderful replication of the Derby Railway Technical Centre (RTC) Deadmans Lane built by the well known modeller of everything “Yellow” Mick Bryan.

Photos are reproduced by kind permission of Karl Crowther

  5. The destination lights on my EMT version are not on, my model is a DCC sound fitted model.    Is there a CV code for the destination lights?    I cannot find one in the list of CV's included in the box.   Any advice please.

  6. Harry and Andrea are a great couple, very helpful and always seem to have the kit and accessories you want (or even dont want! ).   Been trying to get them to come to DEMU Showcase for years but it always clashes with their annual family holiday.

Maybe on passive sales, publicity & accountancy but I doubt the model is in it’s own right.

    £74.99

    (£12.50 VAT)

    (£40.00 donation)
leaves £22.49.. then theres postage to your address.

give Hornby there due kudos and commendations on this one.

Plus freight from China, cost of sale ( Hornby staff, warehousing, packing )

I think overall they have won. They would have lost if they left it at just 500. Yeah model is too basic for me, does not fit in with era etc. But that is not my motivations for buying it. It is a wonderful gesture and something positive to remember from this epoque.

Exactly the same for me, i bought one of the original 500, i couldnt care less if they made 20,000.  I bought it for the sentiment it represents, i probably wont even bother fitting lights of a decoder to it.

Sounds like they haven't left China yet.

If thats the case, its currently Chinese New Year, whichis due to be extended duetothe Corona Virus, and then it willtake 6 weeks by boat from China.

Therefore if thats the worse case scenario, Mid April before next shipment is ready to dispatch to customers.

    Hello

I went there when I was building the layout. Absolutely amazed that the platform and structures on it had still survived. The station house was lived in by the wonderful Neville John Watson who was very helpful to me. I hope he is still OK as he was 86 at the time. Just to say to any-ne who is interested that Fenchurch St Peter will be appearing at the forthcoming Wigan Exhibition on October 5th and 6th. Any-one on here who is attending please say hello.

    mmmmmmm............
