He is talking about CV settings Mick, not your age

Are you actually building this layout. I thought it was only George who builds the layouts ;-)
No Carl, I just build all the woodwork, control panel, electrics, tracklaying and some if the scratch built buildings.

George W and Richard Coleman (Part Time ) and myself have finally commenced the challenge layout for Lyddrail 2017.
The boards were constructed and track laying were all done in my garage.
Due to work and other commitments the layout will NOT be completed in time for the show but all track and some scenics will be done in time.

Is it possible to have a list of layouts, traders and demonstrators at Burton this weekend
Regards
Terry
Sorry Terry I was out tonight but I see that Nick has answered your question

You could always take over my role if you like.Disappointing. Had hoped to meet the guys that pulled the irons from the fire on the 68, so of course DCC supplies won't have anything.
Also Andy Forty who co owns DCC supplies is the Technical Director of Dapol.
-
I see from the website that Dapol are returning to the exhibition this year for the first time after Dave left the company.
I'm looking forward to meeting Neil to shake his hand for his work on the class 68 (as I'm sure many others are). They should also have N gauge class 68's, OO class 121's Railcars, not to mention updates on the class 59 and perhaps the even the 21/29 samples. Then there are the samples of all the re-runs and the 142 samples (for you n gauge people).
What a comeback! A veritable Dapol-fest!
Please note that it is not now 100% that Dapol will be here, the original idea was that DCC Supplies would have a Showcase of models on their stand. I do not know if this is now happening.
However I am in discussion with Dapol and there is a very good chance that they will be at DEMU from 2018 with their own stand.

Troutons lighting pelmet re painted, scenery touched up, stock boxes checked and ready to go. Any one know the earliest time to get in at the Hall on Friday night?
The hall will be open from 3.30 for exhibitors and traders

BUMP
Just a small reminder that the UK's premier modern image ( Diesel and Electric ) layouts Model railway exhibition will soon be upon us.
Come to Burton on Trent to see the very best in British railway modelling, an extensive list of layouts of various gauges, traders, manufacturers and demonstrations.
Saturday 3rd June and Sunday 4th June 2017.

I've not been to the DEMU Showcase for a few years, what's the car parking situation like currently?
Usually lot of parking available in the surrounding roads, or the car park ( payment required ) behind the venue.
-
Due to the General Election on the 8th June, Burton on Trent town hall have informed the Showcase team that one of the rooms used for the Showcase event will not be available for use.
This means that we have unfortunately had to postpone the following two layouts until next year:
1/. Deadmans Lane by Mick Bryan
2/. Alderford by Carl Bowden. ( TBC at present )
This is a major disappointment to us and of course to the layout owners. As you can imagine we are not happy about this situation and we thank the layout owners for their understanding in the matter, and look forward to welcoming them in 2018.
The premier Diesel & Electric show will still have many eye watering layouts to view, so come along... you won't be disappointed!

Hello
Must be nice to be an exhibitor at Show-case; maybe one day when I get better at this modelling malarkey. For now the stewarding will keep me happy.
Cheers
George
George, I will invite one of "YOUR" layouts soon I'm sure..............

Looking great Steve, see you in a couple of weeks.

How did Dave cope with more than 2 points (that work)?
Amazingly well, and the layout was not covered in wagons!!!

Who, where?
IP #257..............
Somewhere near Brent I think.............

It's funny how it's the N Gauge modellers making fun of me, perhaps its because they are used to handling small things
-
Used a class 37 to preserve his modesty I'd of thought a class 03 would be plenty big enough.
You obviously haven't worked out why I'm called nobby.......
-
There is also Bum Biters Monthly but we don't know when they plan to do the article......
-
Now I've joined the realms of the unemployed due to the fact I've had to close down the European operations of the company I worked for perhaps I could build a tree or something..............

Looking good Steve.
Certainly not an IP like some of the layouts on here...........

Nobby: to be fair, on our Google Drive spreadsheet it said Cripple Lane (I just copied it from there). I've amended the doc to reflect the correct name.Next you'll be telling me I've put pictures of the wrong layout in the Showguide (now who would do something stupid like that?) :PGuy
Whoops!!!!

Thanks to Mick for posting this:
UPDATE:
Ebsworth Street will not be attending this year, this is not the fault of the layout owner but the venues owners.
Also Richard Colemans ( cobbler on RMWeb ) layout is called Cripple Sidings and not Cripple Lane.

This photo now shows the correct position for the motor and pick up leads after I completed the resoldering. The thicker red motor lead should go to the ML connection and the orange lead from the track pick up goes to TRKR connection. As has been stated in DCC mode the motor must be fully isolated and connected only to the decoder motor output.
Ian
Thank you to everyone who has answered my question.

My Dapol Scotrail 68 arrived and I thought I had a lucky escape - name plates fitted straight and no glue marks.
All was looking great until I tried to get it running on DCC . The DC test run before fitting the decoder was fine. I fitted a Hatton's 21 pin decoder and the loco started running immediately without any controller input. Then I fitted a Bachmann decoder this time it responded to the controller and the loco ran for a couple of minutes before the decoder cut out due to overheating. The photo shows the problem with the wiring I had with my model . The red motor lead had been soldered to TRKR (track right ) and the thinner orange lead track pick up from the wheels had been soldered to ML (motor left) I assume the factory dont test it with a decoder fitted . Resoldering of the leads to their correct position cured the problem and restored correct DCC running. (Both decoders surprisingly survived the ordeal)
Although I did not expect to have to get my soldering iron out on a new model nevertheless I am very pleased with the detail and running qualities of the Dapol 68 and would consider buying another.
Ian
For those who only have a basic understanding of DCC, where should the wires have been soldered to for DCC running?
4Z33 in trouble?

According to Anglia News 11 " carriages " have come off the track.
Never realised containers carried passengers..........
