  1. There’s also the small matter of Dusty (wheelie) Bin photobombing back up the thread… 😀 Risked another session on the drive this afternoon and got away with it! No rain so fencing and telegraph poles completed on board 6. Interest is building amongst the locals especially the school kids… Mum, they shout excitedly as they come down the road … the railway man is out! They are genuinely interested …. And one teenage lad started telling me about his Dapol Manor today so there is hope for the hobby…..
  2. More progress ahead of Redditch show yesterday…. Board 5 grassed and hedged. Still needs fencing and trees. Abbotswoods new and now correct starter to Spetchley installed… 7612 heads north to Brum. No SLW 25s for Redditch unfortunately…. A new Bachmann 6875 should be on the Pensnett coke though, and @Downendians clay liner will be appearing on Saturday … back to Bachmann 9ft wheelbase wagons on Sunday.
  3. Tricky things pheasants…. Some are revolting! Revolting pheasants
  4. We visited Oz last year … went to Philip Island, saw 1600 of them ! A superb sight…
  5. Funny how we all find different solutions isn’t it. The boards are stored and transported with their 5ft axis vertical …. The skids only add 1 inch to that, didn’t want to add much height in case of problems with vans. Have also avoided integral wheels… a pair of boards sits very nicely on a sack truck and goes through normal doors… the truck has balloon tyres and is very good for getting over obstacles such as door thresholds. Big test coming up….
  6. Ab that’s good to hear! Today’s “just” job is to fit protective skids to the board sides. These will protect the front fascia boards which currently get badly scarred and need repainting every time before the layout goes out.,,
  7. That’s great modelling Andy thanks for sharing. I know @Downendian will appreciate it too!
  8. Yes I know what you mean! But it was still a super railway despite the livery….
  9. Pegs are all on, there’s not a train in sight … the Bobby is having a breather surveying the scene at Abbotswood Junction.
  10. Ah I haven’t a clue am afraid! Can I suggest you email them at enquiry@redditch-mrc.com Hope that helps! Please come and say hello if you make it.
  11. The S&T department have been busy today. Telegraph poles 3D printed by John Peck at Precision labels …
  12. Go on you know you want to! Neil is there too Saturday
  13. Redditch 2/3rd March …. Possibly GWSR diesel gala in July … that’s it so far. You around at all?
  14. AFV432 exhaust ??? Was a hand grenade involved? 😀 Proper poached! Any way here’s advice from Alaska …. Cook salmon in dishwasher
  15. Yep especially as the line was on an embankment! 😀 Had a thought of adding some greenery directly on to the backscene behind the trees Robbie d in …
  16. It’s also a great way to poach a whole salmon … wrapped in foil with butter and herbs. No dishwasher tablet of course even the lemon ones would be too much!!! So back to the layout …. On Mk1 we had a line of trees hiding where track came through the backscene. Looking at doing the same again …. Unless anyone knows of a better solution??
