No wonder the driver is leaning out the cab, it's the effect of those onion sarnies.....

    Old habits die hard.
  3. Don't forget the power of cropping. It can change the entire feel of a picture Then to join in with the old picture effect using the website I was shown.

Now the Squadron Leader in on the scene.... He's powered up his RE8 and done a low level pass over 2322. Not I understand, to see the loco, but to see the 'headless shovel'...!!!

Well that didn't take long. Already members of the local railway preservation society have been up to Little Muddle and tried to get access to 2322. The closest they got was the gate at the bottom of field next to the head shunt where the loco is residing It appears they might be discussing a save the loco movement. Mind you, the sheep don't seem that concerned or bothered! EDIT What I didn't spot with this picture was the advertising that the loco is doing... Look where the shrub is and the local appears to be promoting. ' Eat Western'

Oh dear.... It is with great sadness that I have to announce that 2322 went 'phut' yesterday afternoon, a burning smell filled the room and then the loco ceased to move. The chip appears OK but the huge motor in the tender has shorted and now wont turn. So last night I removed all the electrics, gears etc and turned it into another one of my photo props...! In memory here is a picture I took earlier this week... And to add insult to injury the end fell of the fireman's shovel so now he looks like he's poking the coal with a stick. Luckily I found it on the floor this morning so I can now reinstate it to give him a purpose. What the future will bring regarding running, well she did look great trundling around so I expect I might finish 8701 and then have look about fitting a new chassis to get her operational again. For now she is sitting quietly in the head shunt of Little Muddle station......
  7. Much better and now you are catching the beauty of your layout. I like the first one best as the loco motion is clearer. Looking much better and as you get to understand the camera better the sky will be the limit! If you are using windows don't forget the updated editing suite built into it. Then you can quickly do this.... Now it's misty.....the weather not my trawler!

From the other direction he is smoking a cigarette but I couldn't work out how to do the smoke!!!!!!!
  9. Last one but if you used a reflective board then you could get some light on the wheels using some redirected room lighting

Now that is the question. The shop is Wills plain tiles and slate on the other roof, I haven't exactly decided yet but expect it will be the same.
  11. Regarding the darkness of your pictures, one thought comes to mind and that is the lighting. Have you tried any additional lights to see if that will help?

Never got around to it but tried my daughters iPhone 7 which has a slightly better camera than my 6s. I have to say they came out rather well. Nothing done, just as the phone took them. She is talking about a new phone so perhaps I might end up with a hand me down!!

Thanks..... A layout that evolves with time, forever building the future, never standing still! Interesting concept but no I'm happy with the direction Little Muddle is going for now but when the day arrives, and it will, when the layout can go no further and there is nothing more to do - what then. Well that will be the question and for now I haven't given it a thought.

Things are changing as the development creeps on. The view is different. It is doing exactly what I want it to do and that is make the station feel part of the town.

  16. What me......no! They are not motorless loco's rather they are photo props that happen to look like a loco!
  17. Nice pictures, pick out the detail of the layout beautifully. Credit to you.

Night is approaching Encombe Dairies casting long shadows across the landscapes. Tomorrow is another day, perhaps that will bring an answer to..... 'How to we get that crate off the lorry?' Only time will tell......
  19. With the sun below the yardarm, casting long shadows across the countryside night approaches Encombe Dairies. All is peaceful, all is quiet, perhaps tomorrow they will get that crate of the lorry!
  20. Who needs a railway layout. Just placed on the dining table on a rotating cake stand and moved to catch the light. Grey card behind for back ground

Thanks Dozens of them..... It was a name given by an RMWebber (Stubby 47) which stuck to a field located behind Little Muddle station and has been referred to as that since about 2 years ago. I would point to the series of posts that evolved around for months but we don't have post numbers (at the moment) to send you to.....

What's the plans for the grass, Andy. A good trim and then some static grass?

No pressure then, will need to get this right then..... Progress will be slow for the present as I'm finishing some buildings for the back of the layout. What became known as Cathcott Field has started and if you look in some recent pictures you will see some new structures have appeared next to the large shoe factory but known one noticed as they weren't direct shots...…. They will be appearing in the BRM magazine around July time detailing there build but saying that I did find this old picture in a local newsagent.... And this building has a shop interior to! I expect I will drop back onto the Pannier every now and then, so will post as work progresses. Mulling over what chip to fit as space is at a premium and I will need to remove some of the leadwork to form a gap...….don't want to rush!

Right then. It's no good leaning on this fence that 8700 won't convert itself. Hope none of these chips explode in this field, that'll give a whole new meaning to bangers and mash!
