  1. That's exactly what the Ukrainian army is doing, soldiers sitting at home operating drones.
  2. So thats why they're packing all the asylum seekers off to Rwanda, to free up all the military barracks?
  3. Luckily the baby was snatched clear before the buggy was lifted into the air. https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/8318949.baby-snatched-clear-as-pushchair-hoisted-by-railway-barrier-in-poole/
  4. That would be like painting the Forth Bridge.
  5. I seem to recall that the pedicure by tilapia suddenly stopped when a rumour started that it was one way of transmitting AIDS.
  6. And looking through them while the sun shines.
  7. Swearing zoo parrots. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-54340425
  8. My sister suffers from a similar condition (glaucoma) and has had 'drains' installed in each eye to relieve the pressure. She will eventually go blind but at the moment is allowed to keep her driving licence.
  9. An interesting take on Roman Roads:-
  10. Don't forget that these locomotives were in service for 60-70 years and over the years many minor alterations would have taken place.
  11. Talking of insurance, my household insurance is due for renewal at the end of this month and I received the renewal notice a couple of weeks ago. I got a shock because they'd hiked the premiums by 60%! I did no more than transfer my business to another company and I'm actually paying less for the same cover than previously. I don't know why they hiked it up but I can guess. In the postcode area there is the most expensive properties in Basildon, up to three quarters of a million each and they've just gone by the postcode.
  12. Louvered windows, the burglars delight. They disappeared when the insurance companies jacked the premiums up.
  13. It's just a case of more level crossings in those countries.
  14. I once attended a 'do' in Wormwood Scrubs prison. It was in the prison offices club that was actually within the outer walls.
  15. Depends on what you hit with the hammer.😬
  16. My car was written off in an accident last week. The principle reason being that the airbags went off and the cost of replacing them was more than the book value of the car.
  17. I have the CDC match truck (for the Sentinel diesel) and it comes ready finished with wheels and NEM pockets fitted, so I assume the coaching stock will be the same.
  18. I am not at all religious, in fact I could describe myself as an atheist. I have opted for a simple cremation when I go, no service just straight into the oven. In fact the only extravagance will be having my ashes scattered in a woodland cemetery. A bit expensive perhaps but the 'family plot' is full and they no longer allow ashes to be scattered on the grave.
  19. That's what I'm doing.
  20. Mentioning the size of model aircraft. At a local toy fair there is a dealer in diecast model aircraft and most were to 1/72 scale. He was displaying a Junkers JU52-3m alongside a B17, the JU52 was bigger than the B-17.
  21. I don't have that problem as I don't have a SWMBO. My shopping is go straight to what I want, take it too the till and pay and then on my way.
  22. All this talk of trifle reminds me of this.
  23. Thanks, I meant L49, post duly amended.
