  1. I wouldn't be surprised if Cambridge Analytica were involved with Data Mining when the Blue Pullman was originally launched, yet CA dropped the ball on the Heljan O Gauge Falcon
  2. I have recently ordered four items for my O Gauge Class 60's by email. Message was sent on Tuesday, Brian replied on Thursday and I ordered the same day by PayPal and items received the following day as items were all in stock. If you leave it too long before paying then items could go out of stock. Email went straight into my Inbox and not my Junk folder and this was first email order as previously purchased from the Shawplan stand at shows... One happy customer. As the website specifies... Just make sure that if you enquire by email to be precise as to you requirements. When I placed my order I added the Item code including Loco number where necessary, Reference or Name, Price Code, & Scale.
  3. Well from what I can see zooming in the Yellow Coal liveried HAS had the Red/White flash. Not sure if modified or prototype version tbh
  4. Just need to release the Loadhaul one too
  5. When the Class 92's were built one was sent to Velim? and underwent testing in a special purpose freezer that subject said loco to extreme temperatures far less than we would normally expect in the UK, but I would guess is the norm in the coldest parts of Europe. So, since then why did engineers not build a similar large freezer in the UK to test loco's, DMU's, EMU's and all mater of UK Rolling Stock at the prototype stage, or after the first vehicle rolls off the production line? I would have thought one would have been build at RTC Derby or at the Old Dalby Test Track.
  6. This was because Hulltrains was or is a sister company of Anglia trains. Well it was when it was part of the First Group and HT was originally First Hulltrains, as the Pioneers carried the First logo's like GBRF did when it was part of the First Group.
  7. Hulltrains think that they can run all there services with four sets which they plan to replace with five units which I think are to be built once all the VTEC Class 803's? are built. Since Hulltrains were first started running they have used 170/2's from Anglia which then went to Scotland. Pioneers Class 222's which we the first new build, which there were four sets but then one set fell or should that be 'was dropped' off the jacks at its home depot and it then spend 18months I believe at Crewe works for repairs. This was when 86101 was hired in from KX to Doncaster with Blue and Grey MkIII's and the BR Blue DVT, and one 222 set worked Hull to Doncaster as a shuttle service. These then were sent to East Midlands Trains when there lease expired and Hulltrains got the rejected Class 180's from Great Western which even the public on the Cardiff to London route hate various complaints. When Hulltrains have had issues with these they have hired in a Class 180 from Grand Central but to be honest as the FGW HST's are now going off lease, surely HT should get some of these instead of the Class 180's as NL, BN, HT & EC have plenty of staff who have maintained these over the years and they (HST's) are quite capable of getting you to your final destination even on one Power Car. Also, they are easier to rescue in the event of a total failure than the Class 180, and they are not in a fixed formation so coaches and PC's can be split if necessary. Also, with VEC running one return Hull to London still with a HST around 6/7am each day it wouldn't be too difficult to train staff in the use of door operations as they just need to work alongside VEC Staff. The only thing that would take a bit of time is to train the drivers on the HST's although they may have to have a traveling fitter to couple up the train when it fails as I have heard that HT Staff refuse to do this which is one reason why HT will never run loco hauled services.
  8. There is also the Class 31's which JLTRT produced which Heljan could produce the 31/0 and the 31/4 with the varied liveries, then there is the Class 33 which could be rereleased with new tooling in all three varieties.
  9. Hi Dave, Are there any future plans to produce these in 0 Gauge please as these are now only available from one kit manufacturer now that JLTRT has ceased trading. Also, how easy is it to produce just the Beilhack plough as a separate item as in post #83 in both gauges please? As this is how they were first used in trials up until the early 1980's before BR settled on using converting the Class 40 & Class 45 bogies, especially in Scotland?
  10. As John Upton says the Class 08's had the smaller BR Cast arrows. The class 58's had smaller cast depot plaques which fitted on the cooler group doors more usually than on the cabsides.
  11. I went to the Doncaster show on Sunday and spoke to the chap from Skytrex. He said they were currently out of stock and he is going to be producing more within the next ten days or so as they have been very popular. He only had a display model if I remember correctly he did mention him saying that he had a slight incident recently and the molds used to create these got damaged. He then went on to say to a friend of mine about all the other wagons that he is planning on producing. I did ask if this would include the HEA Wagon. This was a possibility but after all the other planned models and also I think the HBA? Skytrex just said to email them and they will let you know when they are back in stock which I have done. For the buffer heads they advised using drawing pin heads. Then the sacle wheels and couplings are easy to find. I purchased one at Warley last year and two last month, and only intend having a short rake of four. I have not built any kits before, but these seem to be one of the easiest to build. I will not have space for a decent rake and neither will my local Model Railway Group. I have reduced my Dapol order to a sensible size for me. I think two red HAA's and the Blue HAA so I will have two separate rakes for me two Class 60's.
  12. Well surely if that was the case then wouldn't you be already be creating commissions for people or in fact creating your own models?
  13. I got the impression that scanning people in hi viz overalls was difficult due to the reflective stripes? If the Modelu guys are going to be at Doncaster I would like to get scanned along with some of my friends although not too sure if I still have my hi viz overalls.
  14. Firstly I don't think you can commission one locomotive, wagon, or coach. You can only commission a batch of 250, 500, 1000 or something similar due to the high production costs. The more models you have made the cheaper the final cost should be depending how highly detailed the model is I guess. Then there is all the designs, CAD & research. Molds that have to be produced and also pre-production model or test models that get produced and models that are made that end up rejected as no model is made 100% straight off the production line. Then you have to get colours and transfers the correct shade and in the correct position and need to be legible. So, unless you are a Mulitmillionaire much like someone like Pete Waterman. You are prepared to risk vast amounts of money on a fantasy then, personally I wouldn't even think about it in a million years. Personally I think Mr. Watermans Model Railway venture is very impressive. I don't have any connection to it or commissioning models.
  15. Tower website. Also mentions the delayed release date as mentioned earlier in the thread! Not now due until Second Quarter!
  16. Well I will be cancelling my order as you can buy two Skytrex HAA Kits for the cost of one Dapol HAA, and it would be built a lot quicker than Dapol's model. You probably can also get the HEA cheaper and quicker too! Edited as I put HAA cheaper instead of both HAA and HEA.
  17. To do 20083 you will need to change the smaller Heljan drivers cab windows for the larger windows, unless of course you are not bothered about thisHeljan mistake! They will be correct for 20138 however.
  18. Unfortunately I have mislaid my copy of the August 2017 issue of Model Rail will has an article how to modify the Dapol Class 08. Is it possible or easy enough to replace the wooden doors for the steel plated doors? If it is possible I am guessing these are supplied from JLTRT? I am hoping to model FGW Blue 08822. I originally had thought of 08220 but there seems to only be recent pictures of one side of it at Longport
  19. It would prefer an Intercity Mainline livery Class 37/4 tbh as this would be my first choice followed by the Regional Railways with Scotrail Branding then either the Colas or DRS Livered examples.
  20. I have purchased from Legomanbiffo for my Class 20 for my sound and speaker. I purchased these when I was at Warley NEC when I was getting my Class 37 Sound chip reblown. I have not tried the others so I cannot comment.
  21. I had a call from Tower Models at 09:25 today and my BR Blue Domino Headcode fitted Class 20 is going to be delivered tomorrow by courier. Money already taken from the account and someone will be in to accept delivery of a nice last minute Xmas present/early New Years present
  22. Many thanks for that guys. I think I might stick with the Railfreight Petroleum livery for my Heljan Class 60 which is going to be renumbered and resprayed as 60002 as I am not keen on Total stickers. Also, as these do not seem to have the Brush build plates. I have another Heljan Class 60, but not sure yet whether to keep as 60010 which I purchased second hand which needs a minor transfer fix which someone else weathered or to change this to a Colas Class 60 without the Total Stickers.
  23. 60085 is the second loco which I have found which the sticker below the Data Panel https://www.flickr.com/photos/56394872@N06/36299400250/in/photolist-XiDV3s-Tdrvwf-21rcAfD-rGcWyk-Gx7Luf-u5je7f-Gxnxm4-Qz41nS-rjJzs1-VGpsCG-JJLZUH-FfixkB-H43jp4-qYWia3-DwQ1Nj-q77948-ZATwdC-W2SFLX-UkHSyy-GU39ak-YaFYVB-Hw4cxK-21pzzUm-GvpD4Z-CdPnEu-DynWZn-YbUnwt-BHyu8r-rLAPdJ-CxDo2Z-B5xisu-Q3HR8w-BXMo2y-vBR82f-SLzaAN-voWU6y-BHhqvt-W8VptE-rm6Y5P-xY99rY-CX6wah-yZ5PVn-HTEumL-XrorSb-WCYJBi-tEedXX-Xt4sba-AnPJ6i-D5MVJ1-KgbPZ8 60002 - with Red Sicker above the Data Panel https://www.flickr.com/photos/world_railways/17103926550/in/photolist-s4q6tm-rShXxX-rVbBeC-rYyyiC-r5t7Bu-Uug7j5-UFGwyR-sg81Dt-qQdGVU-rjjgZe-VCCLfg-rgTGMG-217xEDf-XpPCLr-YseQzr-VWzcx8-Yo1FV7-XiCmnw-mW79ri-sc4cPr-UhvJeJ-qKZGbV-YrzkD6-VhXdJu-rVtQ3v-rvVRCF-UFGw8F-rZrGPR-rV54HW-s4AUod-SqE99F-sbuYb1-sgMx76-vy5cBJ-TBEBV9-sbMBu1-21NfG7s-sj5Ugp-suYT3p-Xewmw4-Yq4zro-Qj3L5y-ZV1tfb-X2CcdM-TgMCZh-mZS1KD-XmoWM2-r7tNjp-uFua7z-V7gHNU
  24. On the two or three of the earlier batch of Colas Class 60 which had the early style Hard Hard - 60002 being one example. There is a red sticker which is about the Data Panel. I have then seen this below the data panel on another Colas Class 60 but I do not have any pictures of which this is and there are not clear pictures on the Internet of what it is. I am hoping to model a Colas Class 60, possibly 60002, but this sticker if that is what it is does not show on the details of what is available in the transfer packs. I have also noticed in all the pictures that I have checked that none of the Colas Class 60's have the Brush Works Plates fitted. Please can somebody confirm if this is correct? Many Thanks In Advance, John
