Coupled to the fact that I'm not keen on the new format of RMWeb, I've sort of been posting elsewhere quite a bit. Maybe a couple of pictures of some of the bits I've been up to eh? A couple of Accurascale HUO Hoppers............ A Dapol Brakevan converted to a RF branded Air Braked CAR........ Another Dapol Brakevan converted to a Bauxite one with yellow Air Braked panels. Both brakevans have had Railtec transfers added as well as Slaters Oleo buffers and additional bufferbeam pipework. Yes I know they don't have roller bearing axleboxes as there was only so far I could go practicably. Another couple of pictures below as well. Apparently not, I'm only allowed 10mb of photographs unless I subscribe to Goldiness!!! So that's yer lot I';m affraid. Jinty Superlative work. The 10MB limit is annoying so I just reduce the number of photos I post here or show them in separate posts. Under no circumstances will I pay for an enhanced service that appears to be inferior to its predecessor and when there many other alternatives. This is a combined case of Hutber's Law (Improvement means Deterioration) and the Ryanair law of economics (Less is Less). CK CK
Andrew P
I tried to join WT, but without any joy, and having seen my mates Layout on there and NOT ONE REPLY in 2 Months, I did wonder if it was worth pursuing. I do have more trouble loading pics now, I reduce mine in size, but still many get the ERROR 200 message, re try and its sometimes works. I also miss David's posts on here, for there sheer inspiration, I was hoping to see and possibly hear a video of my 47 and 37, as both should be ready for next weekend and I'm really looking forward to getting my grubby little mitts on them now, and having a good play / WHOOPS, operating session on Seven Mills Sidings. So come on David, persevere on here please, we miss your updates mate. 3

Don’t mean to linger off topic but it most certainly is worth pursuing Andy I received a warm welcome when I joined. Can’t remember now, did you have to finish joining by confirming yourself from an email I think they tend to go in your junk folder! As a newish modeller had some nice comments over there on. https://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/starting-out-in-pre-1971-kit-building.7101/page-2 And my other topic. You'll see familiar faces from here there, like. https://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/the-strawberry-line-in-p4.7715/ https://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/brinkly-works.7713/#post-183799 https://www.westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/modelling-a-gwr-prototype-carrog-in-4mm-7mm.7488/ Cheers Back to Jinty’s exquisite modelling, don’t think he’s on WT by the way. 1

I am on there, you can find me here: http://westernthunder.co.uk/index.php?threads/jintys-non-western-wb.4635/ Although I'm ashamed to say that I haven't posted on my own topic on there since Oct 2015!!! That is something I intend to rectify though. Larry Goddard is also on WT, and he's trod back into 7mm again now as well. Persevere with WT Andy, it is a friendly place, similar to what a less 'commercialised' forum this used to be. Jinty 2
Tricky
Thanks for the WT reference Jinty. I was wondering where you were to be found ‘over there’. The drop down ads on here are extremely annoying and might just be the death knell for me...sadly.
Tricky
I see Ian Rathbone is in there as well, another top bloke.

Jinty Just looked in on WT and it won't even let me see your latest pics, or anybody else's pics any bigger than a postage Stamp, so again gave up again. I see LG, Paul / Focoplane and many others I recognise from here, but not many seem to have much response to post's, and I see in the rules that they don't like people going off Topic etc, so no humour there then. Think I'll stick to here and my Shed for comfort. Looking forward to seeing my 37 and 47 next Sunday, any pics yet Jints?
Andrew P
I'm guessing the pic of the Rat on another site might, be mine as you say there is a wiper missing, (now sorted, cheers) but I cant see the numbers on the small thumbnail pics because I ain't a member. Popular Post Jintyman
Here is a Heljan 25/1, finished in BR green with full yellow end, it is TOPS numbered using Railtec custom numbering, including the blue data panel. I added the blue side covers and the wonky 0O00's from Precision Labels. The loco has been fitted with a Zimo MX645P22 sound decoder with an ADAPLU adaptor board. The decoder is loaded with a Paul Chetter Active Drive sound project with Dynamic Braking and Speed Lock, all through two bass reflex speakers. Here is a short video: And a couple of pictures: More very soon Jinty 12 2
Jintyman
I would of posted this last evening, but RMWeb was in down time yet again!!! And another oil burner off the workbench. A Heljan class 128 DPU in Banger Blue. Just some 'in use' weathering as they didn't seem to get to the carriage wash quite as much as their cousins!!! Please excuse the less detailed photos it was very fading light. Jinty 10

Jintyman
Well after a bit of a forced break, during which we were blessed with a Grandchild I have now turned my attention back to the Workbench Here is a little Minerva Peckett 0-4-0t locomotive that I was asked to try and get running better. It was jerking quite a bit, checked the obvious wheels and pick-ups first and gave them a clean with some IPA (India Pale Ale is really good for some things ). I then fitted a 17,000uF Capacitor in the already cramped cavity inside the model, then gave her a little test. At the end of the test I lift the model to see how much stay alive there actually is, about 4-5 seconds I think. Please excuse the sound level, it's a bit quiet on the video, sounded ok to the ear though!!! Jinty 12

RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted June 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 19, 2019 Hi David, Congratulations on the grandchild - you'll have to get on with the layout now, so they can come and play trains ... won't be long before he/she is taking over Talyllyn Junction controllers spot you know! Hope all are doing well. Rich 1
Jintyman
Here is a Dapol/Lionheart 74xx Pannier tank loco that has just been through the works. 7444 is fitted with a MX644D sound decoder which is loaded with a GWR 2-cyl sound project with dynamic braking on F2 and light and heavy load settings. Coal shovelling (F6) brings on the firebox light as well. This loco has had a large Bass Reflex speaker grafted into the space at the front, and sounds rather well for it. a few bits and bobs have been added such as a spare lamp, small shovel, a bucket and some fire irons in strategic places. She is very soon off to her new owner at the other end of the Principality from me. More soon Jinty 14

PannierTanker14
I recognised your work from YouTube and I must say it is superb! The level of detail of the locomotives match that of the real thing. I have a question about the layout: where does the tunnel lead?
