Supaned
The best bit of joined up thinking would be in the interim to electrify both the fast lines from Longbridge to Kings Norton and the Up Slow from Barnt Green to Longbridge , if nothing else the Cross City trains can swing onto the Up Slow at Barnt Green at 40MPH rather than the current arrangement of being checked for a 15MPH at Longbridge. Wiring the fast lines also gives a get out of jail in case of any issues on the slow lines , and in the medium term , I can see a future XC franchisee having some sort of bi-mode unit which could then run under the wires up the bank into New Street and then to points beyond.
