Lyddrail
It's still there. Taken last Saturday Thanks, I didn't realise it was still there. Just added floors and skirting boards on my model. Completed assembling Feeder Hut just to paint details. Cheers.
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted June 27, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 27, 2018 Thanks, I didn't realise it was still there. Just added floors and skirting boards on my model. Completed assembling Feeder Hut just to paint details. Cheers. I am amazed that it is srill standing after all the track removal then temporary site accommodation for the new platform 0 works. However that was Network Rail and the hut is / was EWS then DB's.
Lyddrail
I completed construction of the lobby as far as time allows. Started painting it this morning. It will be part painted for this weekends show. Picture pre painting. As I was never able to measure the prototype it is my representation of the lobby allowing for the space I have on the layout. Cheers.

Lyddrail
I forgot to add some pictures of progress before Wrecrail. The trees in the yard. Progress with the lobby, much more to complete. Other buildings Reigate Feeder hut and yard store hut. As stated on my TWY thread I am building new boards from Tim Horn due to the bad surface I ended up with. They will be 6 inches wider allowing more scenery behind the railway. Rebuilt layout will be first shown in April 2019 at the Ivanhoe show in Mountsorrel. Progress will be shown here. theplasticbrummy
I'm hoping that this layout from the esteemed and universally accredited modeller, Mr. Wide, will draw many, many 10s of people, as it makes it's debut in a completed (It bl**dy better be!) form at the 1st Ivanhoe MRS Exhibition at Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, on the 13th and 14th of April 2019. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/calendar/event/2041-mountsorrail-2019/ Buildings are looking great, Paul - Here's to 30 years of Redhill Up Yard! Apologise for hijacking thread, blatant plug for exhibition, etc, etc...... Cheers, Andy. Edited August 17, 2018 by theplasticbrummy

theplasticbrummy
After reading the nasty, insulting, vindictive comments written about me in the latest Tonbridge West Yard News, Mr. Wide's Redhill Up Yard has had it's invite to the Mountsorrel show revoked and he is now only welcome at the event to bring his mate's layout, "Stratton". Cheers, Andy

theplasticbrummy
I can't really un-invite someone, Dave, especially Mr. Wade! I'd never get to take my layouts to DEMU then, would I? Invite de/un-revoked? Oh great one, please forgive me. Cheers, Andy. x
Lyddrail
Getting ready for the up coming show (belatedly), I have been preparing lineside details for the layout. Started with Wills S&T cabinets which are a close match to the prototype ones. Then I scratched some post cabinets and telephones on posts. Also seen in photo some Knightwing drums. Next were the Wills cabinets modified to intake versions with flat roofs, some Scalemodelscenery drains and manholes, Colin Craig point motors (including clamp lock type which I was about to scratch until I found the packs I had got years ago, just in case), and scratch points heating transformers (including 3 recovered from TWY's refresh). Finally furniture items for the lobby, mostly from 3D Printing Corner which are very nice. All now primed, next is painting so they can be added. Cheers.
Lyddrail
Progress on the lineside items are seen in the photos below. Also the buffers stops, but one more to scratch build yet. Working on completing the lobby building before making the footbridge. Cheers. 7
Lyddrail
I completed the interior items as seen below. Also made the gates for the off railway areas and a new buffer stop (not the steel type as time is too short). The signs are speed and a "Stop" board without the sign added yet. Last are views of the lobby with interior items added, just awaiting doors adding and the roof with light weathering to follow. Cheers. 9

Lyddrail
The lobby is now finished and I have built the footbridge for the scenic break into the fiddle yard, It has been greatly shortened to fit the layout. I was pleased with the curved irons on the sides of the deck, I did these straight on TWY's footbridge which was a similar design. Next is painting the footbridge. Cheers. 4
Lyddrail
Forgot to post the bridge at the other end of the layout now fitted with it's NSE sign, which faces the operating side, plus the foot crossing sections across the 3 sidings and the hand point levers scratched from plastic with brass handles (since completed with being painted). Cheers. 1
