csiedmo
Hello everyone, I see that the Farish Motorail Mk1 FK has now arrived. Looking at the photos on the Rail of Sheffield website, its not obvious to me what distinguishes it from a regular (non Motorail) Mk1 FK. Different bogies perhaps? Many thanks, Ed
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted July 12, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2019 I think the Motorail fleet did indeed retain Mk1 bogies for rather longer because they did not need to run at 100 mph. But the main difference would just be the word Motorail on the side.
47475
This FK does not have the Motorail branding, but the Motorail FKs did later when painted into InterCity livery.
montyburns56
Funnily enough I asked the same question in this thread. Apparently the Motorail markings were only on the ends of the coaches.
RMweb Premium Shropshire Lad Posted July 12, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2019 What would be a typical rake for these coaches? I've got some NGS carflats but what about the rest of the train? Cheers Colin

There is a photo of a WR rake Class 50, 3x MK1 FK, 1x RU, 2x MK1 FK, 1x MK2z BFK with the brake at th FK end, rather than facing the flats es grüßt pc
RMweb Premium acg5324 Posted July 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 16, 2019 Link to Flickr Motorail site https://www.flickr.com/groups/2259775@N23/pool/ The Mk1 FK that GF has chosen was fitted with B1 bogies but I’ve not come across a photo of it with Motorail branding on the ends. Most Mk1 FKs in Motorail service seem to have had CW bogies.....but check against pictures. l’ve a few pictures of Motorail trains in with the brochures here https://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/f56164866 ........and of course in my WR and MR books https://www.amberley-books.com/community-andy-gibbs

RMweb Premium acg5324 Posted December 11, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 11, 2019 Certainly towards the end the Exec livery were mostly B4. As always check against photos.
