  1. As far as I know they’re still going. Their website says copyright 2024 at the bottom.
  2. Hello, In the manual for the YD6016ES-CS, it says that it is designed for a supply voltage of 5V from the s88 bus and that some command stations supply more than that and doing so will destroy the unit. I don't see anywhere in the ECoS 50200 manual where it states the voltage that is supplied via the s88 connection. So it seems to me that this is something you will need find out before investing in any YaMoRC units. Cheers, Ed
  3. I’ve been watching Rapido Railcrew electromagnetic uncouplers being installed on Perth South, and wondered whether they would work with the Dapol Easi-Shunt couplings? They’re labeled as HO but I don’t see why scale matters. I guess it more a question of whether they would actuate the Easi-Shunts in the correct plane and to the correct degree, but I can’t think why they wouldn’t. Surely it’s just a magnet with an off switch?
  4. Here's some vague answers to your very reasonable questions. S2301-01 original condition, so 1962 onwards. Probably quite a lot still like this up to receiving TOPS codes. S2301-02 original condition with Earle's cement labelling. Was Earle's cement based in Hull? S2301-03 boxed lettering, so 1964 onwards, but you'd fancy with them being so new at that time, that the boxed letting wouldn't be applied early-on to many vehicles. S2301-04 original condition but with yellow marker (I've forgotten what that is). Don't know when they started being added but there's a 1968 photo of B784290 with the marker. S2301-05/6/7 with TOPS codes so about 1974 onwards? S2301-08 railfreight so about 1984 onwards? Cheers, Ed
  5. Rails seem very fond of packaging their second hand stock into rakes (a bit annoying when you’re after an individual item) so not the biggest surprise that they’re doing it with new items too. I do like that the triple packs are offered but it would be nice to have singles available as well for those who want them, just as Farish do with their steel minerals these days.

    Dapol Class 22

Hello Phil, D6311 would have been given full width yellow panels when it received its headcode boxes probably in ‘66. D6325 received its headcode boxes when it went BFYE in ‘67. As already mentioned D6324 was the only one of the D6306-D6333 batch to carry headcode boxes without yellow panels. As far as I can tell, the first of the flush boxes was fitted in ‘66. Prior to that they were of the bolt on type and Pteremy gives the complete list of those in his post above. Best wishes, Ed
  7. Hello Roger, Sorry to be so late in replying to your question. I have scans of the North Eastern Region Passenger Working Timetable Section K for June 1960 and September 1960, which covers Arrivals/Departures of trains to/from the Halifax direction, which I as I understand it, covers all activities on the L&Y side of the station. Let me know if you're interested and I will send them to you. The GN side of the station - Arrivals/Departures of trains to/from the Leeds direction will be covered by Section J but I don't have copies of this until after 1962 by which time the timetable was very different due to dieselisation of the Leeds-Bradford-Manchester service in January of that year. The NRM (and I imagine the National Archives at Kew) have copies that you can photograph, or there's always a chance of it turning up on eBay. The NER passenger timetables are readily available on ebay, but of course they will lack any information about light engine movements, ECS trains, and Parcels trains. Here's a link to the Summer 1960 one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166416295107 Best wishes, Ed
  8. For mine I cut the slot in the underlay so that the magnets could sit under the track. This worked fine with code 55 but not with code 80, so it may not work in a larger scale. I suggest that it's worth experimenting with a test piece. The density and type of ballast might well affect the outcome too.
  9. Over on the Rails thread, Roy reported the same issue. He had to drill out the tight screw.
  10. When I went on a weeks work experience at Bradford Interchange when I was about 15 (so probably 1991) they posted to me 5 complementary return tickets so that I could travel for free. I remember them being similar to the OPs ticket except that they were green. cheers, Ed
  11. The latest batch of J39s that were due this month have dropped back to 'awaiting'.
  12. The LMR Central division ran a bunch of ex-LMS non corridor BS-C-BS formations. I’m not sure without looking but it I think that a single BS or BC might possibly be in a two coach formation. That was certainly the case with corridor stock.
  13. Depending on which loco you're wanting to represent, different modifications are required. D6307-D6312,D6333 the circular vent needs to be removed and replaced with the u-shaped plate that covered the bottom half of the original i-shaped vents. D6313-D6332, additionally the 'eyebrow' vents need to be removed. D6334-D6357, the circular vents are actually correct, but just about everything else is completely different.
  14. Strictly speaking the Lincoln-locos body only represents D6300/2/3/4/5 due to the circular vents (if that's what they are) under the 'boxes. These examples wouldn't be going anywhere near Yeovil.
  15. Hello, Regarding the internal and external boxes, yes that's what I mean. D6323 had rectangular plates where the headcode boxes should have been at least at one end during some of 1964/1965. Having checked David Wilson's book, which contains detailed works histories for a few of these locos, it really does seem like most of the internal retro-fitted headcode boxes were fitted in 1966. I have a photo of D6310 in works during June 1965 which may have been when it had it's boxes fitted but you cannot tell from the photo. If you're happy to consider the D6334-D6357 batch (they look quite different from the front, so that's a problem for N-gauge types) then according to BRdatabase D6334,D6336-D6342,D6344-D6346 were allocated to Newton Abbot at this time. It doesn't show any 22s at all allocated to Bristol for 9/65.
  16. This is what I've gleaned from my collection of photos and also the information supplied in Wilson: D6300-D6333 locos with headcode boxes at 9/65: no: 00/01/03/05/09/11/12/13/14/18/19/22/27/28/32/33 likely no: 04/16/29 don't know: 08/15/21/25/30/31 yes, external style: 02/06/07/17 likely yes, internal style: 10 likely blank plates: 23 yes, could be either external or internal: 24/26 I'm happy to update the list if better info arises. Cheers, Ed
  17. In general yes. It might have been that some of the externally fitted boxes were fitted on a more ad-hoc basis but the internally fitted ones seemed to be fitted at overhaul along with a repaint. Many of the early blue repaints didn’t receive the boxes until they went blue.
  18. Hello, One of the Newton Abbot allocation seems more likely to turn up at Yeovil than the Laira ones. Headcode boxes were still being fitted in ‘66 and ‘67. Unfortunately the mid sixties isn’t exactly a treasure trove for class 22 photos, but I’ll see what I can dig out... Cheers, Ed
  19. I imagine they don't "know for certain".
  20. Hello everyone, I've tabulated the number of parcels trains that called at Halifax station on a Thursday each year between 1952-1968. I was surprised by just how many there were and I thought the pattern was interesting and that others might like to see it too. Included in the total are trains of parcels, news, empty parcels vans, and stock trains. I have excluded mail trains as these were passenger trains that included extra BGs for mail, although in the two cases where I have the complete information they are included in the +BGs column, which is the total number of passenger trains (Down+Up) that have some sort of non-passenger stock attached. To keep the table small I have only included the first date when those total first appear, i.e. the stats for Sept-53 are the same as the stats for Jun-53. I imagine that the number in the +BGs column would reduce as the number of dedicated parcels trains increased c.1959-1962. January 1962 saw the introduction of DMU parcels trains (TTBOMK regular DMUs not class 128s). These are included in the total although they do not account for the dramatic rise as there was only one in each direction in January 1962 and never more than 5 of these per day in total. Cheers, Ed
  21. Hello everyone, Can anyone identify the first wagon in train in the following photo? (I'm assuming it's not just a massive shed on a lowfit) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364105428971 Thanks, Ed
  22. On p29 of Northern Steam Finale by Barrie Walker there is a lovely August 1966 photo of a Brindle Heath to Carlisle freight headed by two ice blue containers.
