Hi,

As an avowed small loco person, a BLP is not of interest but an image of 30581 at Exmouth Junction has a tantalising snippet of a BLP. Hornby offer a number of malachite green examples, each slightly different,

Clovelly is a puzzle, unlike Sir Archie, it has lost the Southern smokebox roundel but does not carry British Railways on the tender but it has a BR number. Is this correct for the ‘49-52 timeframe?

Thank you

Got it's BR number in March 1949 and painted BR Green in October 1950.

Hi and thanks Jason,

just wondering if the lack of BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender should be corrected?

Btw this is the image of 30581 with the BLP photobombing on the right

  • RMweb Gold

After the initial use of ‘British Railways’ in Sunshine lettering in early 1948,  many subsequently  ran with no lettering on the tender at all up until they received BR Brunswick.
