RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted October 10, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 10, 2021 There seems to be a general shortage of etched brass ladders, which can be formed into a curve. These would be a cheaper alternative to the Rumney kits with their individual rungs and other parts you may not need. I have had a pack on order from Slater's for a while. Other suppliers showed them as out of stock. There are resin and laser cut wooden ones around but you couldn't get them to curve around your tank, I guess. paul 27
Plastic ones same as Bachmann are these available.
jwealleans
I use these brass ones from Wizard Models. You can solder bent wire to the outsides to beef them up and make them hold their shape.
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted October 12, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 12, 2021 There is always the option of making your own out of microstrip or brass wire. Here are some of my microstrip ladders on some anchor mount wagons I made before the Bachmann ones were introduced.

There are 41 rungs in 138mm which works out at 3.3mm spacing which is right for 10 inch between rungs, the normal spacing of ladder rungs. No connection with the supplier, not even a customer.
