Is it this building, and if it is, are there parking restrictions on nearby roads?

Yes it is and to my knowledge parking is largely unrestricted access n local roads but it can get congested

Sounds good, I might well pop down. Hadn't that used to be a one day show?

Midford and Foxbury are the two drawing me to the show.

In years gone by I think so Chris but had been two days for a while now

I have not been as a paying customer for a while but it is walkable from the station and if driving it can be better to park a few hundred yards away and walk in. I'm sure all sorts of events cause problems but the exhibition does result in a few parking issues at times.

My recent visits have been as exhibitor so have escaped any parking issues!

Bus from Cheltenham station is a 10 minute ride…. Bus route

I usually travel by bus to this show (all the way from Chippenham!) as it makes a good day out. The bus from the town centre calls at the railway station and drops off at the end of the road to the hall. It then goes off on a big loop of the houses, so to return to town its much quicker to walk up to the stop on Alma Road and catch the bus in front of the one you would have caught at the alighting stop.

I'm hoping to drop in on one of the days. It will be my first show since before lockdown 1.0, so I'm looking forward to it.

To answer the various questions about parking, the car park at the hall itself usually gets  full early on, but you might be lucky if you try. There are no parking restrictions on surrounding residential roads, and the further you're prepared to walk the easier it will be to find a space. But, of course, please be considerate of local residents and don't park across driveways or in dangerous locations on street corners.

I shall be there as well playing trains operating in a professional manor on Bridgebury Gate both days.

Also I believe that there is off-site parking for Exhibitors leaving the Car Park available for punters visitors.

See you there.

Regards

Neal.

So a very pleasant 2-3 hours at the show today. Parked on site late morning, no problems.

A good mix of layouts and eras …. but key for me was the chance to socialise again, with friends, traders and operators. Have missed that so much…

Came away with the sole purchase of a green woodpecker whose purpose will be revealed in the future on the layout thread…

Many thanks to the organisers and supporters for a super show.

We dropped in this morning. Had to park offsite, but not far away so it wasn't a problem. It was just nice to be back again after an enforced break. Good selection of layouts, as always.

Came away with some cats, pigeons, crows and a pheasant, all of which will find a home on my W&U themed layout when I eventually get to adding that level of detail. And, also, came away with a renewed desire to spend more time actually modelling - the project has suffered a bit of a hiatus as I've had to appropriate part of its usual home for storage while things have been rearranged elsewhere in the house, but we're now at the point where I can free up the space again and a visit to the show today has given me the necessary prod to get round to doing it!

I returned today with James…. And came away with pheasant, robins and owls! The same vendor I suspect …. Very nicely painted
