Popular Post Simon Bendall
With Andy's kind permission, a plug for my latest 116-page bookazine, this one covering parcels and mail trains from the 1960s through to the Railnet era. Presentation is in the same style as the previous wagon ones and covers the more common pre-nationalisation designs along with Mk.1 stock and the developments and conversions during the corporate, sector and privatisation eras. Also covers newspaper and bullion trains along with Travelling Post Offices. There's the usual variety of modelling projects throughout, mostly in 4mm, with contributors including Terry Bendall, Karl Crowther, Tim Easter, Grahame Hedges, Mark Lambert, Alan Monk and Jim Smith-Wright with Trevor Mann, David Ratcliffe and James Skoyles contributing on the prototype side. Release date is this Thursday (4th) with the usual stockists of Smiths, other newsagents and selected supermarkets. It will also be available from the Key Publishing website at https://shop.keypublishing.com/product/View/productCode/SPECMODBR/Modelling British Railways Some sample pages below: Edited November 1, 2021 by Simon Bendall

47475
I've just ordered this one, along with a previous one that was also of interest. They look like excellent publications with valuable detail. I actually came across this thread whilst trying to look up whether the Farish MK1 BG in Parcels livery (product no. 370-044) depicting NEA 92233 with the missing the black painted panels ('fake windows') on the doors without actual windows was accurate. If indeed incorrect, hopefully it will be corrected on the next Farish release (product no. 370-044A). I have not seen many, if any, photos or videos of them in this livery without this feature. The painted on false windows weren't uncommon: https://flic.kr/p/vd8y7H https://flic.kr/p/XZMJiA https://flic.kr/p/9ukF8g https://flic.kr/p/2hhrzkF Courier vans (BSK conversions) received the same painted windows: https://flic.kr/p/KNpLH3 Royal Mail livery appears to be the only one they were applied to. Steven B. Indeed. They were pretty standard on that livery. My question was more around whether any/many did not have them painted on, as per the Farish model. Going2theDogs
Hi All, Picked my copy up earlier today in Tesco’s. Another excellent read using prototype images showing the real stock alongside photo’s of the models including details on how to improve these. Well done Simon. 1 1
RMweb Premium 03060 Posted November 14, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 14, 2021 Ordered immeadiately but only found out about it by accident (fat fingers ....wrong button !) even though I've ticked Key Publishing's future contact regarding publications before when ordering direct before ? Looking forward to it's arrival, loved to watch the parcels traffic around the Leeds and Bradford areas in the 70s, 80s and early 90s and the main reason behind my RM Web moniker as I remember this loco well (03 060) shuffling the parcels stock at Bradford Interchange. A lot of stock is already in the cupboard in readiness for a future layout ...after my WHL layout is complete. Kind regards, Ian.

cravensdmufan
Collected my saved copy yesterday from my local independent newsagent, who I like to support. Another excellent reference volume - I have the previous three - and definitely ones to keep. Printed on good quality paper - no waving! Great prototype articles and loads of modelling too - I really like the articles on modifying models. Keep up the good work Simon, and all the other contributors. Looking forward to more volumes please!
