Decided to have a go at weathering the IZAs from Revolution trains. Looking through the web and at Dallam Sidings I just couldn't bring myself to weather them so heavily. However, I did manage to find a few pictures in slightly less than new condition, both of which appeared on the Kernow and Revolution pages for the IZA wagon.

Most of what I did was with a product by Tamiya, called Panel Line accent. Ive used it before mostly on cars and in small spots of Locos. it consist of an "ink well" and a very fine paint brush/applicator.  You simply apply a bit in a corner or panel line and it flows, you can also wash it over the surface.

It just gives the panels, corners and frames a bit of punch.  Makes it look like grime is starting to collect, I then gave them a dusting of weathering powder and hit them with matt Dullcote. Frames were done in the same way with paint, powder and dullcote.

Im pleased with the way they came out, just enough so they don't look new. Still not as weathered as the pictures at the start, but enough.

47209 arrived to take the now empty wagons away.

That leaves on more set to do, will probably do a bit of graffiti on those.

Figured out how to resize images in the post, which is useful.

Half of the last set of IZA are done, decided for slightly heavier weathering. Some graffiti was added, funny how the camera picks up the edges of the decal.   In person it has virtually disappeared.Wonder if it 's the light or the blue on silver.

Nice day today. So I went down by the canal for a walk and drink. It was hot but the babbling of the water in the canal and the breeze in the leaves cooled me a bit. Maybe an ice cream?

Nights are drawing in earlier and earlier here in New Hampshire, so the summer activities of Road and Mountain biking are becoming less a daily activity and more on the weekend. ive done almost 1200 miles of cycling this year, so should be a able to tack a few more onto that total.

So a visit to the train room was made; my eye was drawn to the left side of the main station. This area was going to have another row of houses and has had a shell of such for some time. I couldn't get myself motivated to build more.  Had a look at Scalescenes and decided that my fire truck and rescue vehicle needed a home. It is going to be a bit of an awkward fit and the drivers will need to be skilled at reversing, but I think it will work.

Former location of row houses, park has been made smaller, bigger wall will separate park from station

Assembly begins

At this stage an interesting situation arose, not sure why it hasn't happened before. The card stock I use here in the US is a different size to what is recommended, so the laminating process made the sides to thick. This meant that when I test fitted the back wall it was to narrow. Out came the belt sander, yes on card, and I sanded down the side that is closest to the ruler above. This now meant that when the side walls and back wall were all fitted it was square and the black downpipes sat proud of the wall.

Over the weekend Woodland Heath TMD, a shed owned by NSEr, had an open house. They had some off their NSE stock available.

47715 was the first to arrive.

Then 47707 which was stabled on shed, was brought out front to join its classmate.
