pitbull1845
Hi Paul, I really wanted to pop up to Eurotrack bad unfortunately I just didn't get the time this weekend. The photos/videos are good, the EWS 37 sounds great. I also love your NR vans with the modifications. Was Phil helping out with the shunting?
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted February 28, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 28, 2016 Plenty of time to see it Was Phil helping out with the shunting? No it was another Signalman! Steer clear of the Weymouth line

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 17, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 17, 2016 Well activity has started again after being encouraged by having a play on Tidworth I've started assembling a couple of Warflats from the genesis kits and bought some Scimitars and FV432's to go on them http://sandsmodelsshop.com/product/cvrt-scimitar/

RMweb Premium Temeraire Posted May 17, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 17, 2016 Hi mate Have you actually got the scimitars yet, if so what are they like? Almost ordered the scorpions today but thought I'd ask what you thought first hope you don't mind. Actually got the airbrush kit out of its box tonight and assembled it, been watching airbrush for idiots videos on Youtube, might even put some paint in it sometime this week!
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 17, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 17, 2016 No they haven't arrived yet but I'll post pics when they do. I've buried the airfix ones somewhere and was feeling lazy
ess1uk
I've got 2 of the Airfix ones somewhere that are part completed that I started 20 odd years ago
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 21, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 21, 2016 The Scimitars and Fv432 arrived from S&S models and they are nicer mouldings than the previous ones from Britannia Miniatures. There are a few holes and a bit of flash but just a bit crisper all round. Given them a scrub and I'll assemble them next week but look good. No instructions supplied but the photo on the website and pics on the net make it obvious where the bits go. Scimitar Fv432

P.C.M
They look great Paul, really like the fv432s. Cheers Peter.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 24, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 24, 2016 Yep they just add a bit of variety and I used to see mainly the 432's in and out at Marchwood so wanted to model them.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 24, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) Popped into Leaford this morning to sort out some transfers and paint colours with Kevin so I took the Scinitar and FV along. Spot the S&S one . . The longer barrel gives it away it stands about 1.5mm taller than the Airfix Scorpion but after checking we found its all in the higher ride height on the tracks. It looks fine on the warflat and you only notice it directly alongside the Airfix ones. The FV 432 takes a ride on one of Kevin's new scratchbuilt warflats. Thanks Kevin for a good day Edited May 24, 2016 by PaulRhB
81A Oldoak
The AF432 was my old company car. Rolls Royce engine, excellent off-road mobility, secure hands-free communications and an anti-road-rage device in the form a 7.62mm pintle-mounted general purpose machine-gun.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 25, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 25, 2016 I used to see them regularly when I was Signalman at Wool. They were used as a training vehicle with usually a few stood up in the back with the big hatch open. Quite entertaining when the driver messed up the gear change on the crossing and all those in the back dissapeared suddenly

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 7, 2017 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 7, 2017 I think "one" is otherwise engaged One actually put a sound chip in the DRS 37 recently but one is considering getting ones finger out to do the point rodding It's all very quiet on here, when can I buy the layout?? You can't and you're actually the second who's asked! You've got a big power saw now to play with But you can play with this when you're free
backofanenvelope
The 37 sounds pretty damn good. This has to be one of my fav layouts, though as others have said its not Swiss or NG
