RMweb Premium Barry O Posted July 28, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Been busy with a bit of sound fitting and weathering over the last couple of days. A couple of examples First up a Caprotti 5 from a Comet Kit built and painted by Steve Haley Graham Varley. (correct builder identified) I fitted a Loksound V4 (sound from Digitrains) chip in the tender and 2 sugar cubes in the front frames (isn't EM gauge wonderful sometimes?) and then weathered it. Question - were any Caprottis ever kept clean? and for something different a Heljan CoBo - re-gauged by Mike Edge to EM. I fitted a Loksound V4 (sound from Digitrains) chip in the body and two sugar cubes in the fuel tank. and the other side I replaced some of the Heljan pipework as it is too flimsy to survive very long Baz Edited July 29, 2015 by Barry O

RMweb Premium Barry O Posted November 4, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 4, 2015 I have altered the title of the thread to reflect the number of kit (and RTR) locomotives I have been fitting sound to. Strangely enough I can mange to fit the sound into locos where the sound comes from (and not in the tender) for most kit built larger steam locomotives. In previous posts locos fitted include DJH A1, A2, A3, Duchess, Scratchbuilt Princess, DJH Black 5s, Comet Caprotti 5s, DJH Duke of Gloucester and Britannia. RTR sound ready include 10000/10001, not sound ready Bachmann Class 40 , 45, Heljan Co Bo etc. Just contact me for further details - more photos soon! davefrk
Hi Barry, please don't think I'm being pedantic but there's a set of drivers missing off the WD, 90763 is a 2-10-0, the only English one having been at 12A Carlisle for most of it's time. How do I know this? I've got one half built for my layout as 90763 got down to Leeds on a number of occasions plus I've built quite a few WD 2-10-0s for fellow Scottish modellers. In fact I think another 90763 was running on a Scottish layout at the Swindon show this year and will be running again on Hewisbridge at Blyth NE next weekend. I built that one when the Bachmann 2-8-0 came out and we had a number of people at Aylesbury asking is that the new Bachmann model - harumph.... Sorry. All the best, Dave Franks.
RMweb Premium Barry O Posted December 6, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 6, 2015 Bananas!
