Very nice and has great character. The horse & cart just make the scene.

Airfix BR Brake Van to GNR(I) 20T Brake.

This old Airfix Brake Van, built decades ago, has been sitting on my window sill on route to being thrown out. The other day I took the notion to do something with it.  The GNR(I) 20T Brake was a possibility so I started shortening the chassis and removing the sides.  Patience use of a hair dryer and hot water meant I got most of it apart with little breakages.

The rebuild was by plasticard and while not totally accurate it was close enough to be a working model again.

I found the roof difficult to do but I think it will stick down even all round.

Painting and decals (if I can find any suitable) along with couplings will finish it off.

I dread going through the transfer box, I need to sort them out, maybe next time.

Airfix BR Brake Van to GNR(I) 20T Brake.

Found some decals, not much left of the original Airfix Brake now.
