RMweb Premium Neil Posted August 14, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 14, 2015 Whether it happens in reality or not, it would make an interesting modelling scenario. There is nothing to stop modellers pretending that everything had been renationalised - or that privatisation had not happened at all. For my money this is the most thought provoking response. It's sort of implicit that one would be modelling the future, albeit a potentially different future. Most model railways are set in either the past or the present (well, near present) but other model making disciplines often aim at the future. I'm thinking in particular of commercial architectural model making which often depicts the brave new vision / carbuncle / out of town retail mediocrity, yet to appear in reality. Jongudmund
This could have been part of the imaginary locomotives thread. The brave new world of New BR would probably need new government approved British-built locos too.
brianusa
All this chatter about renationalisation; to some with their BR blue engines and appropriate rolling stock, it hasn't left! Brian.
