ajaxjones
Having used arduinos for point control until now, I have just seen that there is a new Raspberry Pi Zero that retails for just £4 I'm certainly going to be swapping over and looking for a cheap servo controller interface... RMweb Gold SHMD Posted November 27, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 27, 2015 The price, size and capability of this device makes it a real game changer. Coupled with that the huge support/community (read popularity) that is already extant then this makes it a real contender to be added to EVERY design you produce. At £4 I now see it as a real challenge NOT to use it! Kev.
Junctionmad
using debian as a pseudo real time op system and writing low level drivers is a huge amount more complicated then arduino Pi has its place but arduinio is a better low level control platform

Isn't the perceived price advantage going to be negated somewhat by the need to add extra interfaces to perform real world tasks? Personally I can't see the benefit over using a simple microcontroller to do most of those suggested so far.
