ColinW
Travel information for the day of the show. Rail- Tonbridge is well served by train services from London, Ashford International, Canterbury, Ramsgate, Folkestone, Hastings, Tunbridge Wells & Redhill. People travelling between Hastings and Robertsbridge should be aware that there are engineering works booked for the day, and trains will start and terminate at Robertsbridge. People travelling from Dover will need to get to Folkestone Central station where the trains will start from, because of the works going on to repair the sea wall between Folkestone and Dover. On arrival at Tonbridge, once people exit the station at the main entrance, they should turn left, and walk down the hill towards the High Street. Once you get to the roundabout at the bottom of the hill, turn right and walk towards another roundabout just before the Sainsbury's garage. At that roundabout, turn left, you will see a large car park in front of Sainsbury's. You can walk across the car park towards the far end of the buildings that contain Sainsbury's and you will see the Angel Centre there. Driving- For people driving to the show, please note the Tonbridge High Street is currently under going regeneration, so for people coming through North Tonbridge (heading towards the railway station from Hildenborough) they will be diverted round to the back of the Angel Centre and Sainsbury's. There are several Pay and Display car parks (both long and short term) in this area, all about 5 minutes from the Angel Centre. For anyone else driving from different directions to Tonbridge, can they follow the signs for the railway station and Sainsbury's. Unfortunately we cannot put up signs for the exhibition. bbishop
And I will be running operating the station. Also looking forward to meeting anyone who is there. Tony Which reminds me. We need to change the sequence, because the Mitteleinsteinwagen have replaced the 6-Umbauwagen. Otherwise we will confuse Keith. I've spent the morning painting roofs. Off out to the garage to freshen up the layout. Bill

jetmorgan
Not long back from the show. A big thank you to all those concerned for putting on another excellent little show, from the organisers to those in the back rooms that take the teas out and collect the money. Plenty of interest in the layouts, especially liked War & Peace Rolvenden, Westcliff GWR & Much Murkle. Aldbourne, Minories, Earl's court & Eigh Bay Halt as well...I couldn't get near some to get pics, and all the other layouts. And a thanks for some of the layouts coming all that distance as well. A good mix of trade stands as well...just a pity I didn't have more money to spend!!!
PenrithBeacon
Just got back from this splendid show. Excellent layouts, good trade support, very good venue with lots of space and ventilation, nice friendly club and well behaved, well adjusted children. What a change a week can bring! tc
We had good day with Minories - the layout, stock and operators all behaved well and it seemed busy until almost the end. The Tonbridge Club looked after us very well - a decent lunch (which is so important if you're up at silly O'clock to load the layout, drive, set up and knock down on the same day) and some lovely home made cakes to boost the energy later in the day. Some very nice layouts there, a few seen before but worth seeing again and some new ones to me too. And some interesting chats with visitors.
RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted February 20, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 20, 2016 This is the first time I have attended this show - either as a visitor or exhibitor. I thought it was excellent, well organised, with a great selection of layouts. Thank you to the Tonbridge club; I hope it was a big success. As is my MO for shows I visit, here are a few pictures of the layouts at today's show. I forgot to pick up a show guide, and did not make a note, so apologies for any missing or mislabelled pictures. Aldbourne Badger's Mount Barton Hill Belfield Halt - apologies for the rotten picture. Both the train (and the layout - it was rotating!) were moving. Belmont Road Bishops Mead Bleak Moor Botleigh Old North Road Bramleigh Canada Street Earl's Court Eigh Bay Halt Glyn Valley Hochstadt Kanjiyama Lindhurst ...and at this point, the photo upload facility has stopped working! So the next instalment of pictures will follow shortly.

I only had a couple more to load.
