jcredfer
2 x weekends ago, I finally gave in to the female voices in the family and took them to see the Lakes ............... accompanied [of course] by warnings to ensure to be wearing the sturdy waterproof clothing. I do like Wainright C class walks - for softy suverners, so different from his Lakes 'Vdiffs'. And those 1952 V10s shurely were being developed for high altitude Colonial airports with short runways. dh ........ anyone remember the weather 2 weeks ago ............... yep, that's the one! ........ brilliant sunshine throughout ... ............................... and now my reputation is that of the ancient wimpy old f**t- who can't tolerate a bit of mist first thing in the morning. I was forced to drive them to the new bridge, built by the Army, at Pooley bridge, at the top of Ullswater to replace the heavy Granite one, swept away by loads of the wet stuff, this winter and remind them that the average rainfalls of Salisbury are around 30" per year .... which they complain about quite frequently ......... ......................... and the Lakes getting a mere 200" ... David Todd
Having taken about a Million photos of the site today, after uploading to Flickr am about to post them here. I am prone to exaggeration, it rubbed off, onto me, having met Julian a number of times,in the past, never know what the future holds. I don't have one of those dangly threaded lampshade s, like Runsasrequired has over his kitchen table. He says its for contacting Isambard. runs as required
Great sequence as ever dt - many thanks. That remotely monitored pile testing installation I find intriguing. It used to be pretty staight forward - simply belting away at driving a 'point set' pile till it went no further or a 'friction set' pile until it achieved its safe load setting. Sitting somewhere in a Slough business park is someone monitoring a screen that is providing both the 'push and pull' compression and tension data on that set of five piles? dh Via my kitchen table dangly lamp IKB says "at least Slough is on my 7' 0" piled baulk road." David Todd
Because of limited viewing point's (4) from which I can take photos at the West end of the site, plus other machinery,in the working area. The red hydralic "clamp", in the post above, was being moved,to it's resting place, after the 3 cylinders were removed. (Providing me, with an onsite, Cherrypicker, to take photos, would be a bonus). Here is the sequence of cylinder(s), removal, after a liquid concrete fill. The concrete chute, was jet washed, after removal of all section's. The red clamp is fitted, to the protruding cylinder.
