Brown NPCS vehicle numbers

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of making a few wagons and need to know what range of numbers were used

on Horse & Groom vans as well as the early build of Beetles.

Is there an affordable book matching vehicle numbers to diagrams for GWR stock, NPCS as well as basic freight ?

A GWR equivalent of Don Rowland's first half million BR book ??

Or perhaps somebody with a large library could help me with a few numbers.

My plan is for 3-4 Horse & Groom and a couple of Early Beetles, I have numbers for later build Beetles.

Hoping someone can help, and thanks for reading and extra thanks for any information.

Hi gwrrob,

I will check to see how much those books go for.......

My Horse & Grooms vans will be a mixture of Parkside Dundas and butchered Lima.

The Beetles are Parkside Dundas who suggest numbers, I assume for the 1926 build

sequence only, as in with the PC64 instructions. My 1909 'X' braced end version PC67 was

obtained without instructions (second-hand) and I'm assuming used an earlier and lower

number run.

I hate myself for it but I'm drifting towards rivet counting !!

Thanks for that gwrrob.

Dozy so & so I am I see I forgot to mention the Diagram codes for the horse & grooms vans.

Parkside Dundas (still to be obtained) is N.13, The butchered Lima will be N.16.

By the end of the weekend I hope to have both Beetles decalled.

The action so far :-

Lots more painting, decalling and weathering but at least these 3 are rolling

A shame the HMRS GW decals are slightly too large for the panels of the

Beetles, but a slight trim & I'll get away with them.
