GBRf 92032 'IMechE Rail Division' powers through Hartford with 6L48 Garston to Dagenham. 2/4/16

Decided to go with this shot and crop it in slightly as I wasn't sold on the close up, seemed a bit over exposed for my liking.

Major blast from the past.

60074, 'Teenage Spirit' in the stunning blue livery stands at WBQ South bay, after being detached from 6F74 coal (a train that now doesn't run)

Seen January 19th, 2013.

Sadly, 60s are now a rarity in Warrington. Something I never thought i'd say years ago, with coal to FFPS from Liverpool having dried up practically overnight due to the high tax on coal.

The last coal to arrive at FFPS was in the hands of a 66, and came from Milford sidings.

57 action was yesterdays order of the day, and with restrictive sun, this was the best I could do. Sadly, the beast was second in command for this one but still nice to see. 5/4/16

Just a couple from the other week, been too lazy to go out today and the weather isn't ideal for shots.

Ever since '830 came out of the paint shop, i've been desperate to get a phot of it.

Today, the opportunity arose to do just that as the beast returned north on 5S56 Laira T&RSMD to Carlisle N.Y stock move. (on the Saturday morning up working I was very asleep!)

47830 passes Warrington Bank Quay with 5S56 Laira T&RSMD to Carlisle N.Y stock move for FGW/GWR taking coaches for refurb.

Considering light was fading fast, i'm very happy with this effort.

Tonight I was going to bring you a shot of 1Q44 passing Warrington Central, however that plan backfired when 37116 failed in Chelford Goods loop having only actually worked the train for 25 minutes from its start point of Crewe C.S. As I speak it's being dragged back to Crewe by 37025, although its currently blocking the down main waiting for 1V66 to pass.

So, because of that balls up, here's 60019 'Port Of Immingham Centenary' passing Tamworth on 6M57 Lindsey to Kingsbury.

Another sunny 60, this time required 60096 powers through Moore with a retimed early 6J37 Carlisle Yard to Chirk log train 16/4/16

This isn't the first time i've used this location, although it is the first time with a 60 in charge. It makes for a nice shot now that the farmer has trimmed the large trees/bushes to the left hand side, although I'm yet to try it as the sun moves further across. May have to wait until the sun lasts a bit later before I can get a nice evening shot.

Whilst out to get a shot of 0Z37 Derby RTC to Kingmoor (which turned out to be 603 not 403 as hoped, and a crap photo!) I went exploring to find some other potential locations i'd spotted whilst trawling through maps.

66434 passes Walton with 6X05 Carlisle Yard to Crewe BH engineers, 20/4/16

Thank you for your excellent photos.  keep up the good work please.    In passing, I think I recall that Rev. Chad Varah, before he was involved with the start up of The Samaritans, was actually the Editor of Eagle comic of fond memory..

Thank you for your excellent photos.  keep up the good work please.    In passing, I think I recall that Rev. Chad Varah, before he was involved with the start up of The Samaritans, was actually the Editor of Eagle comic of fond memory..

Thank you very much!

Chad Varah now has 3 trains named after him, 57302, 390157 and I think it's 350232 which we're done in a ceremony at Euston a few years ago.

Anyone who lives along the Liverpool to Manchester line via Warrington Central will know there is most of the time absolutely nothing of interest, except for occasionally a Network Rail test train!

Tonight, 37609 tops 37667 with 1Q44 Crewe C.S to Crewe C.S via Manchester, Liverpool and half the developed world 12/5/16

Think you get better pictures than I do down the road near Crewe. Think we photograph the same trains, just that your pics are better ;)

Thanks Adrian, it takes a lot of practise to get good shots and finding this location took a good 2 hours of driving around Moore looking for different spots!

Crewe has some nice shots around it, Coppenhall and theres another spot the other side of Basford Hall too.

Just takes practice and to be honest some luck!

One of my favourites from a very cold day chasing the flying Scottish thing around parts of Lancashire.

13065 passes Ewood Bridge working the dining train
