Jenny Emily
Looks like part of the metal crash barrier on the left of the truck. From the front end damage, it could have hit the barrier end on at one of the works access points, possibly if forced out of lane by another vehicle. The black slick on the hard shoulder looks to be the truck's sump oil, and the front steering axle is pushed right back into the fuel tank area, so there's probably terminal damage to the tractor unit. No visible sign of any other vehicle débris trapped under there.T The trailer looks undamaged, and I guess that as the locomotive is still upright and secured, it shouldn't have received any damage. LMS2968
I doubt it's terminal, given the cost of one of these units.
RMweb Premium Richard E Posted March 22, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 22, 2016 Replacement engine, front bumper, cab steps and possibly one or two other bits and that'll be back on the road. As for 80072 I'd be very surprised if there is any damage although an inspection will, inevitably, be needed.
simon47603
I passed this around 10pm. It was still there when I came back around 2am. Luckily they had moved it into the roadworks. Incidentally, would anyone know what the Pannier Tank was going the other way on the M5? I passed it going passed Worcester.

The engineers will be inspecting it over the next few days to see if can be put out in service over Easter weekend."
