ray76
i have exhibited model railways and scale radio controlled aircraft here and thoroughly enjoyed both occasions. I will be bringing my current WIP a 1/9th scale (8x a1/72nd scale drawing!) Fairey Fulmar on the Sunday. The mix of modelling styles is very refreshing. Must try to be there when the boats are in the swimmimg pool, especially if they bring the working U-Boat
BigAndy
This show is an absolute must. To have all these modelling disciplines under one roof for a whole weekend is just brilliant - it's not just a Model Railway show, there really is something for everyone. I'm really looking forward to seeing the 'Rag Tag' fleet again from Battlestar Gallactica. I've only ever seen it once, but I remember being stood in front of this Diorama for what seemed like ages, just in sheer awe of the modelling brilliance of it. The whole thing is scratch built from photos and stills from the TV show! It's worth the admission price on its own, not to mention all the other juicy stuff thats there - the radio controlled Boats in the Swimming Pool is another amazing spectacle to be enjoyed, especially when the Submarines come out to play......... I'll be there both days as I have the honour of being invited back again with my plastic abuse roadshow - ahem, producing stock for my attempt at Glasgow Queen St in EM. The layout has progressed significantly in the last 12 months, so myself and Ben will be there to answer any questions you might have on the layout. It doesn't look like there will be any room to have the boards there this year, but we will have Photo's on hand to show what progress we've made. cheers Andy
Gazza2710
Really pleased to see this show is once again open to the public. This is a real gem of a show, and shows the wider spectrum of modelling - designed to get people thinking about whats out there and how techniques from other branches of modelling can be applied to your particular discipline. And this idea deserves more credit than it gets. Hope to see you all there, a great way to run up to Christmas, for those last minute ideas for you modelling Christmas list! Crompton Power
Once again it looks like a cracking show. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the trek down from Scotland this year. Hope it's a successful show. Those who attend will be in for a real treat. Keith.
Long Line
To reiterate: as it was an issue beyond our control last year. The venue has been refurbished and fitted with new white LED lighting. Cheers Mark

TTIMAN
Hi I will be at the show all weekend. It is a great show as you can see a lot of modelling genres under one roof and the added benefit of the swimming pool with the boats sailing. The model show has a lot to offer so no space is spared. Hope to see people at the show over the weekend. Thanks Edward
sawyermodels
We're there all weekend with our trade stand and also our OO DCC Sound layout for showing off our sound locos and also to test all OO purchases for customers. We also have a N gauge layout to test N locos.
Long Line
Good morning.. We've recovered now from an excellent weekend at Manchester where we staged a modelling demonstration alongside pushing THE MODEL SHOW 2016 message.. A fair few of our new A4 free 2016 show guides were handed out..you can see this on our website and download or read it from there...or simply take one of the pay desk on arrival. As ever our website is the one stop place for all travel or content info and updates, but a couple of late changes worthy of note here are : 1-Mike Bolderston is unwell so wont be staging his matchstick demo (we wish him well) 2-Bob Harper has swapped his ON30 Demo for his US O Scale layout Franklin. (this takes us to ten layouts operating) 3-The Airfix Special Interest Group of the IPMS have now booked the last of our second hand sales tables for Sat/Sun so we are now truly FULL!..i expect they will be parting with some unwanted kits and other goodies? We are into the build up proper now so i'm off to do lots of lovely paperwork and other non modelling things which must be done to satisfy the sites management and see everyone arrive safe and on time. cheers Mark ps..the weatherman is saying favorable things about the end of the week and weekend.. so that's good news too! Long Line
We regret that Poppy cakes (charity cake sales table) and Bespoke shop (laminated signs) have cancelled due to illness and that we have removed Millholme Models/Spephenson Carriages from the show! Most importantly we are in the process of replacing the cake stall so no worries there, but we now have space for private sales tables or Trade-stands in this years show. These can be 1 x 12ft frontage x 6ft deep or 2 x 6ft x 6ft plots. Tables, cloths, chairs and electric can be supplied also. Importantly though these need booking immediately as we are already in the early stages of assembling this years show. Contact can be made simply by using the email facility on this website. Otherwise everything else is coming together nicely lol! Cheers
LyttonCPR
Line-up looks even better than last year when John Parrett and I had our Burnham-on-sea layouts there side by side. Hope to go on Saturday.
LyttonCPR
An excellent show, I spent the afternoon there and the standard has gone up again. I'm amazed at the skills on display in so many fields. Well worth the trip.
RMweb Gold Phatbob Posted December 13, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 13, 2016 I had a great time at the Model Show on Sunday. A superb exhibition and good craic with the other exhibitors. No sinkings in the pool of model boats this time either. One thing I must say is that other venues should take a look at the new LED lighting in the main hall. AMAZING. Nice and bright with a good colour balance too. Ideal for a model show.Somebody from NEC management should go up to Poynton and see how it should be done. Well done to Mark and his team, roll on the 2017 Model Show. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted December 14, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 14, 2016 One thing I must say is that other venues should take a look at the new LED lighting in the main hall. AMAZING. Nice and bright with a good colour balance too. Ideal for a model show. Somebody from NEC management should go up to Poynton and see how it should be done. I don't do Warley so can't compare, but I've been to the NEC for other things including exhibiting and hate the place. The atmosphere in the venue at Poynton did seem good this year and I wasn't having to peer into the gloom anywhere to see what was on offer.
BigAndy
Totally agree. The new lighting just improved an already good exhibition into a great one, just by being able to show off all those superb models. Mark and his team work tirelessly to put the show on and deserve all the positive comments, another 'well done' from me. cheers Andy
Long Line
A big thanks to everyone involved in our 2016 show. A full overview of the show will be published on our website in a few days. But for now, having taken some time to reflect and plan: numbers through the door were up, trade seemed happy, those i spoke with on the weekend said theyd enjoyed the wider variety, a few requested more layouts, junior numbers were up significantly. Accordingly we carry on ..lol.. Our fifth show will be on 9/10th December 2017. Specifically to this site: there'll be 15 or more layouts and a micro meet of a single scale national association is in the pipeline. Cheers for now and look forwards to seing you in December. On behalf of the freinds of the model show. Cheers.
