  1. We've just begun to stock the TT range and all the train sets have sold out with us already, we've ordered more. Our customers are asking for a diesel starter train set. They've only bought the steam sets as there's nothing else to purchase in the train set range. If Hornby do release a diesel train set, our customers will buy it. I'd certainly add it to the new shop TT layout which is under construction.
  2. We arrived at midday and had a leisurely set up of the trade stand. Back at the hotel for 3.30pm and have just enjoyed a lovely meal. Relax time now, before a very enjoyable weekend ahead. The layouts look fantastic as always and as exhibition manager for our club, Leigh Model Railway Society, I've already got my eye on some for our exhibition in future years!
  3. Fantastic news! Having attended Warley as trade support, we'll be happy to carry on and support your exhibition.
  4. According to my rep, all are now in the warehouse and should be with us before Christmas.
  5. As I don't think I've seen it posted yet on here, the 2024 announcements are Tuesday 9th Jan according to a video sent to retailers by the new CEO. No time was mentioned but I think this year it was 7.30am, so that may be the same for 2024. When more information is sent I shall post it.
  6. Regarding the 2024 catalogue, we were asked on Wednesday to place our orders for it, so, for 2024 at least, there will be a full catalogue as per previous years. What is on the cover or inside it, we'll all find out in January.
  7. Thanks to Steve and the the Barnsley crew for a fantastic weekend and excellent layouts. It was nice to meet our customers who live on the other side of the Pennines and also make new customers and friends. Once again our mystery bags proved extremely popular with only one being left unsold! We shall be back in 2024.
  8. I shall try and speak to him this weekend, it just depends how busy we are on the trade stand 🙂🙂🙂
  9. Please don't say that. It's a layout I'd like at the Leigh Exhibition in the future (I'm Exhibition Manager for Leigh).
  10. We got confirmation of everything being on schedule earlier this week as we are attending with our trade stand and are looking forward to it.
  11. You could speak to Leigh Model Railway Society as they did at one point have an exhibition layout based on Bickershaw Colliery and used lots of information from Bickershaw as inspiration.
  12. Hi Meatloaf, We currently have one DCC fitted running on the shops 8x4 window layout. The model has the decoder socket, 8 pin, in the tender. The model also features pick ups on all 6 loco wheels and all 8 tender wheels. Tender has a NEM coupling which can be swapped for something else if required. Powered by a flywheel can motor located in the loco body, not sure if it is 5 or 3 pole though. Loco to tender are permanently coupled and has the male/female wire and plug socket. The tender also has a speaker chamber ready for a circular speaker which isn't pre fitted you have to supply your own. Hope this helps.
  13. Just letting everyone know the exhibition is going ahead. Layouts and traders are all ready to go. Open 10-5 Saturday and 10-4 Sunday.
  14. I agree with you. We were discussing this very subject at the railway club this evening.
  15. No the basic white lights are still present and working in direction of travel
  16. The Railroad+ Class 67 is just one bogie drive with two traction tyres as I have seen inside whilst DCC fitting several for customers. A backwards step in my opinion especially when they spent time adding NEM couplings to the old twin bogie drive Lima chassis before doing a super detailed version.
  17. The Railroad 67 in Colas, DB Silver and DB red in the train set is single bogie drive with two traction tyres, pick ups on all 8 wheels, 8 pin DCC socket, standard white directional lights but no red lights and the original Lima couplings and not NEM like many other railroad models. We currently have one DCC fitted running on one of the shop's DCC layouts and it runs very nicely. Hope this helps.
  18. I know the management train was MK3, this is advertised as the business train and it says MK2s in Hornby's description about the history of the business train. All the pictures show mk2s on Hornby's website. Perhaps ask Hornby to clarify this.
  19. It's meant to be the super detailed Class 67, with all wheel drive, NEM couplings, 21 pin socket and directional lighting. The MK2s are also meant to be the latest tooling with NEM couplings.
  20. Nesta, Dorothea and Alice are here and begining to be shipped to retailers. Our delivery note has them for delivery to our shop from tomorrow onwards (depending on DPD). Hope this helps.
  21. We are deeply saddened to hear this news Derek, we never like to hear of a fellow trader ceasing to trade. A great loss to the modelling world. I will miss our chats at exhibitions. You will be sadly missed at Leigh Exhibition. We wish you and your family well. Best wishes Andy Leigh Model Railway Society Exhibition Manager
  22. As a member of Manchester Model Railway Society, I am looking forward to coming along as trade support for this year's exhibition (I am also a member of Leigh Model Railway Society and their exhibition manager). Phil has done an excellent job of organising this year's exhibition after a few years delay. I have seen the work he has put into this year's exhibition at the club room and it looks to be a cracker of an exhibition. See you all this weekend!
