After starting to remove last nights weathering this morning using the fibre pen I managed to finish the job tonight and managed a few outdoor pics. I still need to add and weather the frost grills, fit the lamp irons the do a bit of work on the front, buffer beams and grease the buffers up along with scuff marks to the doors and steps.

I must admit I'm made up with the first pic and how it's looking so far

Looking very nice there, just like I remember them looking. Is this going to be a late Green South Wales loco like 37 244, 284/289 ?

Thanks Toffee, it's going to be 6921, I had numbered it but they came off whilst weathering it so the new ones arrived today, it's one of a few that were green with br double arrows.

Hopefully I'll get them on by the morning :)

Cheers

Forgot to say that's one of the clean ones ! Well because it was a Canton one, the Landore ones got far worse and not just because they worked the Llanwern iron ore, Canton was cleaner !

John.

Thanks John, yer it looks pretty clean on this pic https://flic.kr/p/dAN9WY modellers licence an all that it's got dirty on its way up to Liverpool ;) as far as we know the first 37 on the Bootle branch was 37140 in the early 80's :O

House to myself for an hour this morning so I managed to get the numbers and arrows on, weathered and fitted the frost grills and weathered the buffers and buffer beam pipe work. A few touches up to the nose and other areas then all that remains is to fit train crew and get the decoder ordered and fitted.

I'm rather pleased

Your going to have to tone the whiteness of those numbers and arrows down a bit mate!  Looks like the visible setting is on 145% :). Looks good tho .. just watch your good lady doesn't see those pics, or else, you'll be responsible for making the window frames dirty and that means out with the ladders and leather to clean ALL the house windows!

Not much to shout about but I've made a start on the blue 37, here's a couple of pics of the last weeks progress, a bit of cosmetic work to the nose to remove the brackets and a couple of layers of weathering, I wasn't to pleased at first of how it was coming along but the more time I'm spending on it the happier I am.

Cheers

Looking really nice there..........GREASYYYYY  :good:

I sympathise with you regarding Photo*ucket..........tried to download all my stored pictures several times, but I assume they are making it almost impossible to do.........just get the "wait for death" symbol.

* substitute with whatever letter you want, I'd use "f"   :ireful:

Nice thread this since I last visited. I have succumbed to purchase some O gauge track , points and an engine shed. :scared:

N gauge got me back into Modelling back in 1998, Then leapt to 4MM due to the leap with sounds, Irish Locos and fab detailing and now 7mm. I need to see someone about this developing problem! Now to get a new Pet.....er Terrier....mind you these Gronks are nice too. :scratchhead:

Sorry for the lack of updates but been quite busy if late, I’ve been getting a few weathering jobs for customers so most my time has been taken up with that, at the moment I’m working on a Cl13 master & slave then I’ve got two more 08’s and a 37 to finish with a lot more in the cue. I’ll try and get photos posted up as soon as possible, I’ve also set up a Facebook group for my weathering

https://m.facebook.com/groups/441351382898306

There’s also a link to a group I set up for ELJ which I’m going to be starting in 7mmvety shortly, the first two boards just need assembling then I can crack on once I get some of the weathering jobs out of the way.

I might start a new thread for my weathering under the same name as my FB group which is 8N just to save any confusion.

Cheers
