A couple more photos from the 1970s, taken in Dundee yard on 7th June 1975:

I remember that day at Tay Bridge shed  well and have similar shots of the A4 on the turntable.

 

From memory it had to be coaxed after sticking half way and the regulator was being worked open/closed to inch it along to balance it with manual pushing helping.

 

I have cine film of this plus also running through the Carse of Gowrie taken from  the car on the adjacent road.

On display at York station in 1978, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Mallard setting the world speed record for a steam locomotive.  Apologies for the quality of the photos, but it was a rainy and overcast day:
