david.hill64
I have been suffering from a cold and nosebleeds this week so progress has not been quite as good as hoped but it is nearly there. The ejector, handrails and smoebox door dart have been added. So I think it is just the sandbox fillers. lubricators, oil pots and associated pipework, blister drain, whistle and reach rod to add to the body. A parcel arrived yesterday form Mrs Gladiator containing the missing parts so I will be able to complete the cylinder assembly and chassis this week. Looking good for an appearance at the Reading show in 2 weeks.
N15class
The post in Thailand must be better than Brazil. They've had my wheels since 29 of last month. No getting replacement parts quickly here.
david.hill64
Actually the post here is either very good or terrible. I would say 95% very good but when they mislay Mrs Gladiator's birthday card.................... Back on topic! Just have the sandbox fillers to add now and then final fettling. The body isn't quite sitting right on the chassis. It must be the oil pipe detail that i added getting in the way. I also discovered that my expectation that the gearbox would not interfere with the brake pull rod was wrong, so part of the pull rod is now missing. Still I think I am on track for completion this weekend latest.
david.hill64
The pickups have been added and wheels motor etc fitted and test run. I need to paint the cylinders and motion bracket before I add these.
david.hill64
All done now bar the painting. I am pleased as I was beginning to wonder if it would be ready for my flight home tomorrow. The cylinders etc were sprayed and fitted. A test run on leads made you think that the name 'Singer' was cast onto one of the bits, but as soon as it was on the test track it would only run in fits and starts. the culprits were some over-long sandpipes that were causing shorts so they were cut back and now it runs fine. This and the Longight Patriot will be on the Gladiator stand at teh Reading show next Saturday, so please come and say Hi!
N15class
Looks the business now. What's next on the build list?
david.hill64
Looks the business now. What's next on the build list? The Finney West Country Crediton that I have started already. I had plans for a parallel build but in the end the Mogul took priority while I waited for a supply of Loctitie to arrive.

Horsetan
^^I like that. Very workmanlike. Do I spot LNER-style expansion links? Edited July 8, 2017 by Horsetan
david.hill64
^^ I like that. Very workmanlike. Do I spot LNER-style expansion links? The model has very simple fold over links. It is an area that could be improved.
