Mike,

May i correct you and point out that our (Soar Valley Model railway club) layout is actually called 'Dorehill St Stevens'.

If anyone can't wait until Derby to see this monster, please come along to our open days over the easter weekend (sat 3rd + sun 4th April), at Swannington Village Hall near Coalville, Leics, where Dorehill will be shown in all its golry along with a further 6 club layouts! More details should be in the Diary section of RmWeb,

Cheers, Richard

Hi Richard

Sorry about that - now corrected. My excuse is that I just posted what was sent to me by the Exhibition Manager

Looking forward to seeing this again - with a layout that big there's always something going on

Cheers for that Mike, I think there have been even more little cameo scenes since its last outing so there's even more to see between the trains!

Cheers again and i look forward to seeing you in May, Richard

  • 1 month later...
  • 2 weeks later...

Bump back to the top of the list - by this time next week it will all be over and we hope that our exhibitors and traders will have safely returned home. :)

Mike

Likewise for us mortals organising expoEM next weekend. Good luck with your show Mike....

And in case anyone is wondering Mike and I did try to avoid the clash but were confounded by matters entirely outside our control...

Thanks Graeme - which reminds me that you were asking about the date for next year - this has been confirmed as 14/15 May 2011

Yes it's a shame about the clash with Expo.

Still we are looking forward to bringing 'Clarendon' up to Derby.

Then I'm stopping to have a weeks holiday in the Peak District, so I hope the weathers going to kind next week. Plenty of walking to be done.

Then there's always 'Railex' to look forward to at the end of the month. rolleyes.gif

See you all at the weekend.

YES

This has also been confirmed by phone with the Exhibition Manager this evening. Both of these traders will be covering both shows although at this stage I don't know who will get the genuine article and who gets the cardboard cutout :D

To clarify the Shawplan position.

I will be working at Derby with Bill Wilson and we will have the full Shawplan stand. Brian will be at Derby for an hour or so first thing Saturday.

He will then head off to ExpoEM where Mike will have gone on ahead with "Shawplan Lite", but still a good range of products and paints.

Both shows will be covered but the full-up stand will be at Derby

Many thanks for that - the big question now is who gets Charlie from DC Kits - one of the shows will be a lot quieter than the other :D

See you Saturday

i was just going to ask if A1 Models would be there, but having looked at the traders list, i guess not, i might pop up for the day on saturday, hopefully helping with a rather large HO layout!

Hi Martin

M G Sharp from Sheffield will be there and they are A1 stockists - however as this is only a small part of their stock I don't know if they will actually have any A1 stuff with them. Suggest you give them a call before they start loading the van - not much time left :D

Been out tonight hanging nearly 30 yellow direction signs on lamposts - took almost three hours to get all round the ring road and so I hope that I have all directions covered. Railway Modeller advert (page 30a in May issue) has a map which I have copied below
