Popular Post KNP
Every now and then you take a picture which I look at and think.... That worked. This, to me, is one of those pictures because you could have been stood by the fence and caught this view. Edited March 22, 2023 by KNP 32
Ponthir28
Looks like the real world rather than a photoshopped world. Love it. 3 1

For me, that works because it shows what you would see in real life "before your very eyes": lamp, signal, water crane and all getting in the way. None of this fretting about composition ! 2 9

You will have noticed by now that this is my type of picture where you have to peer around something to see the main subject. 5

Mind you, just be careful what your camera is climbing on top of to get a view, we don't want cameras falling through roofs etc., and causing all sorts of damage! Trouble is cameras don't get scraped knees, as we did as youths. Instead they get scratched lens- not so easily fixed with TCP (or whatever our mothers applied in the 50s?) Meanwhile congratulations on Muddling through to 300 pages, here's to the next 300! Cheers Paul 4 1 1
Popular Post KNP
The Herbert & Sherbet PO wagon is nearing completion. Transfers designed and just need making, time consuming process that involves 3 or 4 coats of varnish so I will leave those until tomorrow when I can work on them outdoors in the daylight. Weathering and load also required. Grandson already organising a train!!! Haven't finished it yet I said, well you better hurry up then Grandad otherwise people will get cold in the town without coal......! Plus he wants three or four more of them..... 21 1

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted September 2, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2020 The railway in the background is exactly how we usually see it in real life. In perverse contrast, we tend to put the railway in the foreground of our baseboard, and fill the background with scenery or buildings. Kevin's pics look so authentic. 17
RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted September 2, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2020 That’s the best view of the derelict barn- there must be a large bat population in there. Oh, and there’s a mogul! 3 1 3

Popular Post KNP
Transfers made for the PO wagon and one side done. Being treated with kid gloves at the moment as this is the largest set of homemade transfers I have done. So I will do one side today, let dry overnight then varnish and finish the other another day... Here is a sneak preview for you as you have been with me this build from the start...... Need to sort out white now which needs another print paper and it’s not cheap. Most printers, including mine, can’t print white. MrWolf
It's really quite inspiring. I have been thinking about creating a couple of fictitious private owner wagons for my own layout. The company isn't fictitious, but they didn't have wagons, only horse and cart, which they unloaded onto GW and LNW wagons. I had thought that I would paint them plain black with white lettering and hadn't yet given much thought to how and where to get the transfers made. 1
