... in a pint glass please landlord.

Years ago, after playing cricket against a rather snooty team (fancy-caps is the technical term), I went to the bar and ordered 11 pints.

"I'm sorry, we don't serve pints in the cocktail bar." [note: not even "I'm sorry, sir"]

"All right, I'll have 22 halves then please."

That reminds me of a lad's night out, we went somewhere, that would only serve halves, the barman relented in the end, he never got to the end of serving the round, because we were drinking faster than he could serve it. We then left, I don't think he was very happy with us.

The problem is that the only chap who could possibly help is leaning over the fence looking the other way.

Saw this and thought of you!

Thanks.

Do you have a date for this?

One thing I noticed was some lifebelts or no bowsprit.

Nice to have you back.

Not quite done, but had plenty of thinking about and a much clearer picture is evolving!!!

Consistently captioned "circa 1922" which seems reasonable, 'tho no guarantee!

Liferings, adopted by the RNLI in c.1855, look pretty standard from about 1900 on. There will almost certainly be dated Board of Trade legislation, and probably complementary PLA by-laws, if one felt inclined!

Very basically - if you're out sailing, you want a bowsprit. If you're manouvering within docks, you don't (hence why they lift up!). Having one suggests (no more) a coasting barge, without a river barge. So, a barge in Little Muddle might be more likely to have one, but there's no right or wrong with it.

LM looking lovely as ever in the weekend sunshine :)

Swopping and banking the Squadron Leader gets a clear shot into the station and goods yard.

Looks like just a Bloater in town today?

And a fallen over sheep.....which has now been stood back up again!

Sheep are past masters at inventing ways to die!

Decided that after the Beetle prize cattle wagon is finished I will start the name plates for the viaduct...........I will........once I've got the crate unpacked as I think i put them in there......then I will ask the engine shed gang to fit them.....!

So be patient..

They'll probably get drafted before they get round to it then.

Unusual angle bringing the Harbour Master office into the frame.

As with most of LM I see the Old Sea Dog is still on those steps telling his tales....

The old seaman on the stairs is taking stories to another level.
