I had the air brush out weathering some 00 stock the other day and had some paint left over so made a start on my Heljan dogfish and catfish wagons.

Not finished yet but getting there.

Here are my photos from Saturday's meeting. As I said in the Llanbourne topic, a good time was had by all, and there was a good number of people at the meeting.

The Pete Harvey bufferbeam looks great, I have one to do myself and would be interested to see how you fix it in place if you could show a picture please that would be really helpfull.

Thanks Tony

Hi Tony, the Pete Harvey bufferbeam etch is glued onto the  back of the old Heljan bufferbeam which is attached to the main chassis by a couple of screws.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Peter

I do like your peak. I mostly model green but bought a blue one. It was a poor runner though so I sent it back to Tower who were very good and sent a replacement out before mine even arrived back. Unfortunately, and I'm still not sure how I did this, I told them it was green so I ended up with the wrong colour and neither of us noticed till too late.

Every time I see this thread reminds me I must get round to respraying it, although will turn it into a 46 first.

Actually got some work done on the layout recently. The road bridge is coming together quite well though i was hoping to be further along at this point.

I had the chance to set the layout up this weekend. The idea was to test and sort trackwork going into the fiddleyard  as I had had some issues with track hight. Between boards. I also wanted to sort out my mock up of the shed as I thought it looked a bit on the large side.

It's now a bit smaller and looks better.

Going back a bit, can you remember how you did the floor planks on the brake van? For old wood I generally start with Humbrol 32 dark grey and vary that with a dash of gunmetal and brown highlights but you've got a convincing dusty brown hue to that.

Yeah good question. I use a lot of Humbrol 26 which gives nice a light brown. probably mixed it with a bit of black light grey.  with a touch of bry brushing 26 and some white after.

Cheers Peter.
