Should have this just about ready for Paint for the weekend so it will be on the MIOG stand at Stafford MRC this weekend. Nice, look forward to seeing it at Stafford. D6775
This week I have been mostly....... trying to get stuff off the WB. These three Dogfish have been my main priority this week in between Turbots (which are also now well on the way). I seem to have found some motivation again finally! All started as black pre TOPs versions. One completely re-painted and the other two renumbered and weathered. Still a little bit to do but I am happy with them. 8
D6775
And my first two HEA's in progress.
D6775
Shoal of Turbots off the WB this evening. Booked on a trip to Cam's WB for final airbrushing to bring everything together and three Catfish now return to the WB for finishing. 9
D6775
Tonight's progress, two more HEA's started, rubbed back the red and logo's with 400grit sand paper: Also made a start on my CAR brakevan, though I am not 100% happy with it so far, but I will recover it!

Baggies1961
Hi Al, Hope your well. Hows the WRD building coming along? Yet to build mine as Im putting a base board together to put mine on together with Marcway points and new point motors Yet to arrive Iv got for the project, which will also have a refuelling point. Mine will be loosely based hopefully on Tees Yard but set in the Western region ish. Regards Julian.
D6775
Good ta. WRD is on the back burner a little right now as the baseboard for it hasn't been made yet! Once I have these HEA's done and a few other bits it will come back onto the WB to be completed. I've picked up various bits to start populating it.
D6775
Next three HEA's on the WB. should have another 5 this week.
D6775
Seems the engineers have been working overtime this weekend with the WRD full of HEA's getting attention. In all seriousness I have been plugging away at the HEA fleet in between other jobs this weekend. 2x Brown HBA's and 1x Brown HEA I think are complete and two RF wagons ostensibly complete. Just need to touch in some of the black paint and add transfers. Should have said I have been trialling some of @James Makin's weathering methods of paint on/wipe off on these, I am quite pleased with the results. D6775
I'll be back on wagons this week, but we've got a project in to refurbish a layout , first jobs for me will be buildings while my mate works on the electrics. I've cleaned up one warehouse, but the other really needed a complete repaint. First jobs we're a general clean followed by a dusting of redoxcide primer. Second job is starting to paint in the details. Roof and roller shutters painted a silvery colour, lintels in a stone colour and bricks picked out in brown. Next jobs are sealing and pointing before starting to add details back on. Other buildings progressing are for out new layout. Foam board structure clad in LCut Creative panels. These will hopefully come alive as the paint goes on. 8
D6775
The warehouse has had the pointing done and window frames painted. Just need to sort guttering and touch in the window blanks now. And the FNA wagon is now ready for paint!
D6775
Been a while since I updated this. FNA is now pretty much in Primer, hopefully get some top coat on it this weekend but we will see. The WRD has been concentrating on HEA's at the moment, there seems to have been another influx!! Still a bit to go but these are nearly ready for either traffic or disposal.
D6775
And so my HEA's affliction continues. RF HEA off the WB along with 4x Mainline Blue ones. The RF one is pretty much a full repaint, the Mainline ones renumbered and patch painted. These will be for disposal in the new year but a friend of mine will be having a couple first. I am actually really pleased with how the RF one has come out, it was an exercise in really battering one up.
Nick G
Very nice, I have been working on a couple this week. I hadn't realised the centre ladder versions had an extra hand rail on all 4 corners and footsteps on all four corners but all taken care of now. Do you know what year the ladders and footsteps were removed for health & safety reasons?

Do you know what year the ladders and footsteps were removed for health & safety reasons? Yes, I could do with some extra steps, I think I have some off Turbots somewhere. I think the ladders started to get removed by EWS in the early 2000's, there was an incident in Doncaster Yard involving a tank wagon under the wires. D6775
2022 Review. Well, a year where quite a bit finally happened, back to shows, personal highs & lows, a change of jobs and some actual modelling! Dovedale made its debut at our MIOG show then a successful stint at the Doncaster GoG show. The next layout is already in progress but halted while we sort something else out. 26005 is still not quite finished (I will get this done and out and about in the new year), the 101 has finally made some progress (if I can get Cam to finish the black I can transfer it up and get it finished!). Another rake of YCV Turbots which have captivated a lot of people. New models made it onto across the WB included 33051, 37418 & 47114 for me and work done on 47303 for Cam, HRA, MAB & Dogfish wagons along with some 28 (I think) of Dapols HEAs.. 2023 Hopes & Aspirations Layout wise, Dovedale needs a little TLC, hopefully has a photoshoot in the new year and a couple of outings. We need to get a layout we’ve had in re-wired and re-worked to appear at MIOG in March and the new layout provisionally called ‘High Street’ will be making progress. As to stock, more HEAs to do and move on. A second HRA needs finishing for MIOG along with some parts for a couple of kit manufacturers followed by a number of other items currently in works, so watch this space! Thanks to everyone who has popped in here and my layout threads, have a Great New Year and let’s see what 2023 will bring, I am looking forward to turning even more models out, a good weekend and MIOG and attending a few more shows.
D6775
Finally got my build and write up finished for Paul Rolley's Impressionist Models MAA/MAB wagon. If you fancy a read here it is: Impressionist Models MAA/MAB Review
D6775
Finally found some motivation and got the FNA finished, though I think I may have overdone the weathering. May need to tone it down a little. Also got my second HRA conversion complete, both HRA wagons will be on the Skytrex stand at the MIOG show in Crewe next month.
D6775
Now they are done, time to get some more projects through the WB. Next up a rather rotten looking 26032. Still a way to go till I am happy though. 5
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted February 26, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 26, 2023 That certainly looks rotten ..... great example
D6775
This has been under wraps for a couple of weeks as I wanted it for our show at Crewe. Even Andy from Buzz Models didn't know I had done it. HE let me have a kit a while back but he is still waiting for the etches, so I decided I would make the ends up with evergreen strip instead. Still needs a lamp iron and hand brake leavers but it'll do for now! 5
D6775
Productive weekend. Loadhaul Limpet ready for transfers and a second Buzz Models VGA. Also managed to get some bodies filled and primed, not 100% happy with them so will be getting more work before going for top coats. Hopefully I can keep this motivation and progress up.
