jcm@gwr
I have recently acquired a number of these 7mm coaches, and although they are outside of my modelling period, I would like to upgrade them to be more accurate for my local club's layout. I remember see/reading an article on this forum that someone posted about the mods needed and what he had done, but despite searching everywhere I can think of, I can't find it. The search engine is not much use, as it insists on giving you every topic that has the word coach in it, whatever the scale! It might help if I knew who started the topic, I had a vague thought that it was 'the Penguin of Doom', but the members list says he hasn't posted anything for the duration of the 'new' forum, and the search facility on the old one is even worse! Can anyone help, I would appreciate any hints, or even a link. Thanks in advance.
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted February 11, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 11, 2018 Search engines generally, not just on RMWeb, need a special mental attitude / lateral thinking. Some need use of the + sign to work well. Try just Big-big, or anything else you can think of which might come in that thread.
giz
Just found this on the old forum: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3431 Edit - and this on the current one: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/71345-tri-ang-big-big-train-mkii-cut-and-shut-and-easybuild-mk1s/ Edited February 11, 2018 by giz
brossard
Jeff, you mention "these coaches", but I don't see a description, or even better a picture. I have an interest in upgrading coaches and I'm doing that with my Kirk coach build. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/116068-ian-kirk-7mm-gresley-52-6-corridor-coaches/ I do agree with your comment about the search function, it is no longer very useful. I think I have tried just about every combination of '-', '+', etc., and was starting to lose the will to live! Just found this on the old forum: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3431 Edit - and this on the current one: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/71345-tri-ang-big-big-train-mkii-cut-and-shut-and-easybuild-mk1s/ Thanks for those links, the second was the one I was thinking of, and I still can't understand why I couldn't find it. The first was also useful, just a shame that after the first page, almost all the photos have gone (probably the usual suspect, Photo-Bucket!) Jeff, you mention "these coaches", but I don't see a description, or even better a picture. John Unfortunately my camera has died, and my phone and lap-top aren't on speaking terms at the moment! But, the above 2 links will show you the coaches, and the work that I intend to do (probably better than I would). Thanks for the help, all, Jeff
giz
I searched using Google for 'Triang O gauge coaches' and 'Triang Big Big coaches' and selecting images hovered over them until I found some from RMWeb.
