Rivercider
I visited Oxford in the 1980s a few times to take photos. The photos are mostly of trains so any background detail is a bonus. This is a shot that shows a bit more of Oxford South. Rugd1022
Our esteemed member Brian Daniels has a large number of Oxford area photos on his site Paul, and I have several photos of the signals in the area, I'll dig them out later.

The up platform / up main gantry is not long for this world.

Rugd1022
Many Thanks, Interesting to see just how much the track layout has changed, as well as the buildings. Thanks, Paul Yes the layout has been much reduced and simplified since the semaphores were replaced by MAS colour lights in late '73. The West Mids Sidings at the south end of the station are gone now too.

Oxford Snow.jpg Oxford Snow #2.jpg The up platform / up main gantry is not long for this world. Yes, I noticed a huge new gantry spanning all lines when down in Oxford last month. I believe the old gantry previously carried the semaphores and was simply re-used for the colour lights.
RMweb Premium Davexoc Posted February 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 15, 2018 A few from 1980 I think, 47560 and the depot, 50021 and 56042 (the unique one with class 58 bogies) approaching from the south. Dave
