Oxford (BR/GW) Station Photo Request: 70s-90s

I visited Oxford in the 1980s a few times to take photos. The photos are mostly of trains so any background detail is a bonus.

 

This is a shot that shows a bit more of Oxford South.

Yes the layout has been much reduced and simplified since the semaphores were replaced by MAS colour lights in late '73. The West Mids Sidings at the south end of the station are gone now too.

View south from the current footbridge, south yard sidings and connections to them now gone of course but a decent impression of the lie of the land...

The up platform / up main gantry is not long for this world.

 

Yes, I noticed a huge new gantry spanning all lines when down in Oxford last month. I believe the old gantry previously carried the semaphores and was simply re-used for the colour lights.
