After a day being "nice" to people you may not want to be nice to, firing up the PS4 and killing things is therapeutic. I can see the point of hunting animals in Ghosts of Tsushima and something similar was played out in Far Cry 4. But somehow in LOU 2 it feels wrong, somehow; especially after you take over the Abby character and she, the WLF and the dogs become more than anonymous ciphers. If Naughty Dog continues the LOU franchise, I wonder if they will concentrate on Abby (I think that Ellie is very much a spent, and morally bankrupt, character). Theres a lot of potential in that character now, more so than in Ellie. Hopefully we're past the point of needing spoiler alerts, but wasn't Abby deliberately infected? I can't remember if Lev was too, who's a possibility for a returning character if not (especially if seeking vengeance for Abby - which would be yawn imo). I however strongly believe there's still milage in Ellie. An older, wiser, grizzled Ellie that has come to terms with her past - much as how we were introduced to Joel - but perhaps seeking closure. Don't forget, as far as we're led to believe, Ellie is the only one with immunity to the Cordyceps fungus. It was this added to Joel's love for Ellie and hers for him that have been at the core of both outings. C6T.

C6T. I don't think HTC or Sony are too bothered. In fact I expect their sales to go up. I had a little go at a VR FPS and it was OK, I may pinch the controller and headset and try downstairs on my PS4. My son commented that most people struggle at first with the gun controller but I picked it up straight away. I had to remind him it was basically PS Move and I was top 0.5% on Killzone 3 multiplayer 100% on Move.

How much is fair and how much is an excuse when it comes to saying Covid-19 disruption I don't know. I put in the order a while back (after the Rift cable failure looked terminal - that situation had already put me off staying with them, even before further Facebook integration). It finally ticked over from "8 or more weeks" (which is its default, since June in my case) to "7 or more weeks" yesterday.
Classsix T
Having bought Dad a DVD/bluray player for his birthday, I have the PS3 back. Reinstalled it in its rightful place, I bought five more Metal Gear Solid games which takes me to eight MGS titles in total. That's something of a gamble for me having in the past only briefly dabbled with a PS2 demo of the series, but they seem to be bordering on if not fully fledged essential gamer fare. What is slightly annoying is that the PS3 Store titles are totally bereft of price drops or discounts. You could argue that's to deliberately shepherd gamers towards newer hardware but Sony seems to have blatantly forgone any recognition that even though it understandably wants to sell new shiny kit and the games for it, there are still some that are financially secure enough that we don't need to ditch our previous gen machines to buy the new ones and gladly keep hold. Certainly there's probably some collusion with the game's Publisher, but until the likes of Mass Effect 1-3 and Deus-Ex Mankind Divided make it over to a modern Sony console, the PS3 will continue to offer functionality. Indeed one of the MGS games was a PS3 port of Snake's PSOne outing! Not to mention, watching streaming or disc playback on the PS3 is somewhat more enjoyable given its lack of racket whilst performing it. I am though going through something of a bargain hunter collecting phase admittedly (I was doing similar when 4mm railway stock was still inexpensive before (justified) Chinese wage increases affected the market). So having gone from never owned an Assassin's Creed title ever some months ago, after purchasing a triple AC bundle, the hard drive is now groaning with eight or nine of them. Two more to come if/when AC3, which comes with Liberation, is discounted to an attractive price point. One day, I'll get around to playing some of them! C6T. Classsix T
So yeah, I found out today 2K/Take-Two released a new golf game on the 21st of August. That bu99er passed me by. Traditionally I'd ignore anything with a 2K21 title, but EA being reticent since what, 2015, and only the Golf Club games to deal with, which are fantastically difficult to play...yeah go on then. Fancy a round? C6T. I'm told this is actually the third installment of the Golf Club series, but with a proper full on license deal with the PGA. RMweb Gold SHMD Posted August 27, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 27, 2020 Fortnite updated this morning (+19GB download - boo) and disrupted my morning work skype meeting - bonus! The theme this season is the characters based on the Marvel comics. Thor, Iron man, er er... 'been done before but there is some new stuff too. I particularly like the aircraft carrier, to practice/play/explore, whilst waiting for players and the 4 jets that zoom under the bus before you jump off - very cool. Altogether, much better than the water themed last season. Oh, and no update for those locked into Apple. Win #1 of this new season in my very first game . Win #2 today Some match stats of Win #2 ...mostly newbies and bots, but still, a win! Kev. 1
Classsix T
A few days into PGA 2K21 and I was starting to fear it'd fallen into the trap of being either too easy or too hard to play. Happy to report however that there are enough parameters to adjust that a suitably challenging experience can be arrived at so that I'm swearing like a docker and congratulating myself in equal measure. I've yet to see how the online element pans out. It also occurred to me that with that game, TLoU2 and Ghost of Tsushima already purchased with Watchdogs Legion and Cyberpunk 2077 penciled in towards the end of the year, the games makers are going to do rather well out of me this year. And there is a new console hopefully before the year end too. My purchases haven't been connected to global events, purely buying stuff I like as it is released, but a string of high profile titles coupled to the obvious increase in demand for home entertainment makes it easy to see why 2020 has been a very successful year for the industry, if not for many others. Well it's just turned up this morning (taken the morning off work to play ), which is a bit faster than that 7 weeks back at that time, although I'd originally put in the order in June (hadn't decided if I was going to get it at that point but it was a "stick you place in a queue, don't have to pay until it's ready to ship, can cancel any time" thing so nothing lost). Trying to figure out how to plug it in - needs three mains sockets as opposed to the Rift's zero.

Classsix T
I'll buy when it's in the shops at my leisure but I won't pre-order. Apart from the fact I'm still on furlough and I'm told work is still not busy meaning a pre lock down income level isn't guaranteed, there isn't anything to play on it at launch I believe I must have as far as gamer eagerness goes. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on the same day incidentally, but until the new Horizon Zero Dawn, Ratchet & Clank and Gran Turismo are released, the PS4 will keep me covered. Big James
It this time. I bought the Xbox 360 on launch and it had red ring then died.
